Yippeee! I love new dis friends!

Kidani is soooo beautiful! I love it there! It really is home!

Thanks about the pictures! I'm trying to release my inner photographer! :lmao:

I was so excited that the decoration were still up!

We soon found ourselves back at Kidani and trekked the hall back to our room!

We were happy to find that our luggage had been delivered!

We called bell service to get our groceries delivered and then took a look at the room service menu! I was willing to pay OOP for room service in the comfort of our warm, comfy room! We all decided to just get burgers and I called room service.

But, no one answered!

I waited a few minutes and called again.

No one answered!

One more time,

No one answered!

I gave up and we bundled up again and headed out to Jambo House to go to The Mara! I know this has been said before but, it stinks that there isn’t a counter service at Kidani! Please, oh please Disney PUT ONE IN!!! I beg of you!!! Kidani was almost perfect! It would have been perfect with a quick service!

We took the first bus that came and were at Jambo House quickly!

The Mara was packed!!! I decided that someone didn’t want us to eat dinner! I really wished I had ordered frozen pizza or something to have in the room if we needed! Then we wouldn’t have had this problem!

BIL and the kids waited for a table while me, DH and Dsis ordered!

Luckily a large table opened up while we were ordering and everyone got to sit together and eat a yummy meal! BIL and I had Chicken Ciabatta while Dsis, Justin, Jessica and Jule had Flatbreads, DH had a burger and the kiddos had Chicken Nuggets again! It was a very nice dinner!

We then headed back to Kidani! I was a little afraid that the walk would be too long in the cold but it wasn’t! It was maybe a 3 minute walk from the lobby of Jambo House to the first elevator in the parking garage under Kidani! Great! It put us a lot closer to our room too!! Yipeee!

When we got back to our room we settled in a little more, unpacked and got ready for an early bedtime!

Sleep was a wonderful thing that night!!! Comfy, warm bed!! Ahhhh!!!! :cloud9:

BTW, I promise the next update will have lots of pictures!!!!!! I didn't take any pictures after we got back that night, I think I was too frozen!

I agree that Kidani needs its own counter service. I love the Mara, but it just seems so incovenient to go there. I'm glad everyone had a nice meal and the walk back was minimal. You had a really full first day. Can't wait to read about day 2.

I can't believe no one answered in room service!

Explains why Mara was so packed. That would have been frustrating! Glad you enjoyed your dinner and did get seating!

I heartily agree!! ::yes:: And to add insult to injury, you can't even use DDP credits for food at the Maji Pool Bar! :headache:

Glad you finally got some grub!

I agree about Kidani and the lack of CS! They sent me a survey in the mail about my stay and I mentioned this. Hopefully they are already starting to see that request pour in and will consider adding it somewhere.

I had no idea you couldn't use DDP credits at the pool bar either! Really, that's just silly! :sad2:

Sorry about the fiasco you endured that night trying to get a meal! And, I hate to say this...but the gift shop at Kidani sells frozen pizzas....! Naturally they are insanely priced, like $8, but, handy!

It really makes no sense to me that there is no CS at Kidani! I love the Mara too! We ate there every morning during our 2005 trip!

Day 2 coming soon!

I couldn't figure out why no one answered! I just wonder if because it was so cold a lot of people got the same idea we did and room service was completely overwhelmed!

I didn't know you couldn't use credits at the pool bar! That stinks! Jeeze!

I really hope they put in a CS at Kidani! It was really make it perfect for us!

Doesn't it stink that you can't use credits at the pool bar?! I didn't know that either!!! Boo!

I realized after the fact that they had frozen pizza in Jahari Market  but we would have needed at least 6 of them! BIL, Justin and Jule could have all eaten one a piece!

I also forgot to mention that on our way back we saw a Pizza Hut delievery car! I commented on it and believe I said something about doing that next time!

I finally had a chance to get caught up. You guys got a lot done for having been up so early that morning! :thumbsup2

Yippee! Thanks for joining in Denise!

We really did do a lot especially with the cold and lack of sleep!

Breaking news! Our reservations for December have been made!

December 4th - 11th, 2 bedroom savanna view @ Kidani for DH, the kiddos, MIL and FIL! SIL, BIL and baby Alexis will be staying in a savanna view studio @ Kidani!

SIL and BIL didn't want to go for the Grand Villa. BIL isn't all that into hanging with the family. Whatever, a 2 bedroom and a studio is a lot less points!

We're very, very excited! I can't wait for MVMCP!

Day 2!!!

We had decided, well I had really decided, that we should try to sleep in a little this morning and not try to get to rope drop at Epcot.

My reason, the marathon!

Marathon weekend was the second weekend of our trip last year and it was a nightmare trying to get anywhere in the morning!

My plan worked to our advantage!!

I got up around 7:30 and got myself ready, then it was time for my kiddos to get up! Dsis, BIL and both girls were up already and getting ready and the little kids were soon getting up and about!

We ate breakfast in our room and had a nice leisurely morning!

We left for Epcot around 9 I believe! We waited on a few minutes for a bus and were soon off to Jambo House! After our Jambo House stop the driver said something over the speaker about all of us sleeping late working to our advantage! He told us that the road were open again and we wouldn’t have to go to TTC and get on the monorail to epcot! Woo hoo!!

We did hit traffic however! The roads where open, but one lane was closed for the marathon. I must say it was really neat to see all of the runners. Until I noticed a man who had stopped to get sick over the highway median, ick! I stopped looking!

We arrived at Epcot shortly before 10 and quickly made our way through bag check! I have to tell you I had Ryan in his stroller and 1 or 2 of the bags. We got to the front of the table and we got the great security guard ever! She was singing!! Not just singing but singing beautifully and taking a few songs and mixing them together and changing them to sing about Ryan!! It was sooooo cute and magical! It was a lovely way to start the day!

We stopped right inside to take a picture! I’m not in it because I was taking it ;) Just the way I like it!

First stop, Spaceship Earth! We walked on! Yippeee!!

Of course, we enjoyed our journey!

We made our way off and into the area where you can the email, there were a lot of people around and I think we only got 1 emailed home.

Then we were off to get the stroller for Ryan. As I put Ryan into his stroller I was doing a headcount in my head, something I did constantly all week to make sure we didn’t lose anyone. A lot of times I counted I only came up with 9. But, that was because I seemed to have a block about counting myself. I’d count again, making sure to count myself, and come up with 10.

This time that didn’t happen. My first concern was my kids, because they’re littler. Mainly Johnny was my concern. He gets distracted easily when there’s a lot to look at and doesn’t always listen. He was with me, thank god. Dorothy was with me. Who was missing?!

Justin!

My heart sank a little and I got that feeling in the pit of my stomach. You know the one.

I kinda screamed “where’s Justin?!” Everyone looked around and no one saw him.

My first thought was to ask Dsis if he had a cell phone on him. Nope!

Oh boy! Justin maybe 16 years old but he has Asperger’s (high functioning autism) He’s learned a lot as he’s gotten older and learned how to better react to things and deal with a variety of situations.

But, I was worried if he panicked it wouldn’t be pretty! I had a vision of my probably 6’2” 200 lbs nephew hysterical crying in epcot somewhere not knowing what to do!

I asked Dsis if she thought he'd be ok and she thought he would be and would most likely head back inside the area after Spaceship Earth. I was a little concerned he wouldn’t see it because it’s not all that clearly marked!

BIL set off to look for him and we stayed put in hopes Justin would remember we had gone to put Ryan in the stroller and he’d go toward the stroller.

So we stood there, and watched the marathoners run through epcot and waited.

And waited.

And waited.

I swear it felt like an eternity! I don’t know how Dsis remained calm because I was surely having a heard time!

After about 5 minutes we decided since I knew the park I would go look too and Jessica would call me if Justin came back!

I walked up the hill, almost to the exit of SSE and they were walking toward me! Thank god!

Apparently Justin thought we were going to the right after we left SSE instead of left to get the stroller. He figured he didn’t see us because there was a crowd of people watching the marathoners run by.

When he couldn’t find us after a few minutes he went back inside the SSE drop off area (I know it has a name, I just don’t know it)

Phew!!!

So, relieved and a lot more relaxed we made our way to The Land!

Oh, what a fright!

This is why we'll probably be holding Billy's hand when he's thirty! :rotfl:

Great call on taking it slow that morning! I'm looking forward to the rest of your day.

Kathy

:scared: Oh my goodness gracious, time can crawl when you're searching for a lost child. Whew!

Yay for your booking! Maybe we can arrange a meet up! :thumbsup2

Congratulations on your December reservation. I love making new reservations!!!!! :cool1:

Nice update, but very scary to lose Justin. Phew! Glad he was OK and that nobody panicked.

I bet it was fun to see the runners. I love your picture in front of spaceship earth!
