Maggie & Scott Planning Journal: SBP/FIE April 1st, 2008-INVITATION PICS! 7/22

Where did you get your garter if you don't mind me asking? It's gorgeous.

Aww, thank you :) I actually got it at a "year round" bridal show in Toronto. I didn't buy it online, but it is a 'Weddingstar' product so I imagine it would be on their website.

First off, congratulations. All the things you have picked look great. Your ring is really pretty.

What's this about a year round bridal show in Toronto?

Me wants to know!

Have you ever heard of Bridestown? Thats what I am talking about. It's located in North York area--I think, near Eglington Square. It is a 'service' where they have a large number of vendors ()that have been pre-screen and interviewed) to showcase for brides unsure of who to use. They have everything you could imagine--even some dresses and shoes. Also, they have the little shop section where you can buy wedding needs, or novelties. They are sooo sweet and kind in there. I recommend checking them out if you can.

Yayayayay!!! I just booked Randy Chapman for my wedding!!! I talked to him for over an hour--he was so sweet and easy going. There were a couple moments he almost made me cry (in a good way). Anyway, this is all I have to update for now.

I have the same garter, you can also get in from a website called Kensingtonclassics. It actually has all of the happily ever after stuff on there too.

Hey everyone,

I figured it was about time for an update. I have been avoiding planning stuff because I was a bit stressed, but now I'm back into it. I realized that I will not have any time for planning once school starts up again--so I need to do as much as possible now.

I have been having some problems with one of my bridesmaids, trying to get all the dresses ordered etc., or even getting a reply from her. Anyway, I've told them they can choose which ever dress they want from Alfred Angelo, Tea length, and celedon. Thankfully, my Maid of Honor and one bridesmaid are going to pay their dresses full out at the time of ordering--basically covering the cost for the maid that hasn't responded so that it can be ordered. I am sooo thankful to have these two--they have been so wonderful about everything.

The wedding colors will be celedon, pink, white and black (maybe black).

I bought the clear bubble wands and decorated them with cute pink ribbons. I also bought personalized toasting glasses for the entire wedding party--they were send to my moms house so I'm hoping they turned out. I plan to order pink and green personalized m&m's as the favors--and they ship them already decorated in the boxes so that saves me a lot of time. I also ordered personalized memorial vases for our loved ones that have past. We plan to put a single white rose in them.

I ordered white silk flower petals and pink round tulle, tied with green ribbon for the guests at the ceremony.

I was considering doing the sand ceremony, rather than the candle ceremony and was wondering if anyone else has tried it, and if it turned out okay.

Recently, I booked Carolyn Allen's for dress steaming, but I was wondering if it would be just my dress that needs the steaming, or the BM's too. Also, for the tuxedo's--has anyone used After Hours in Florida Mall and if so: how were they? How do you get the wedding party measured? and Do they bring them to the hotel, or do you pick them up?

I am stuck between two centerpieces--either the large candleabra (sp?) with white roses in the center, or two square vases with green bamboo and black stones at the bottom.

DF and I wanted square place settings, rather than round--does anyone know if Disney has that??

I am currently handdrawing the design for the welcome bags. Hopefully I will finish them soon and can iron them on.

I am currently at work, so I will post more pictures once I get a chance at home.

Cheers, Maggie

Thank you. I also found another cake I like even more--very very different, but I don't know if Disney can do it.
Yeah, the shoes are cute, but I am bringing a back up because I can only walk in them for a couple hours before I start getting sore.

Thank you so much!!!!!! I got them at americanbridal.com
and they were 29.95. I'm thinking about getting the matching slippers, but we'll see.

Yayayaya!!!! I'm sooo happy, relieved, and less stressed!! THE BRIDESMAIDS DRESSES ARE ORDERED! I'm soo excited! That was the biggest stresser I've had.
Also, I wanted to thank Diane for the pictures of the Mickey/Cinderella purse! It's sooo cute.

I bought more bridesmaids gifts today, and stuff for the welcome bags. I will post pics after work.

Maggie

Okay, so here are some pictures of recent purchases!
These are the place card holders-3 for $1 yay!!!

Here is a PC bag--for one of my bridesmaid who LOVES PC. Walmart has a TON of different Disney bags like this for .97 each--so I'm not sure if I should do the Disney bags for the Welcome bags, or just canvas with a transfer image.

Some welcome bag stuff-Disney pens, note pads, hand sanitizer(the sales women thought we were crazy germaphobs buying 60 bottles of hand sanitizer), Disney chapstick.

These are the Disney folders that will go in the welcome bags--they will contain our final newsletter, maps, park/resort info, our itinerary, and a thank you letter.

These are they

photo albums I picked up for my bridesmaids.

And some scented bath salts for bridesmaids--these will go in their welcome bags, rather than their gift bags.

These are our bubble wands--which I haven't quite decided how to decorate them yet, nor have I added the thank you tags.

I gues that is all for right now--next up will be photos of our ORDERED bridesmaids dresses.

Have a goodnight fellow disbrides!
