Madness!!

Unbelievable-i remember when dd was in her first Christmas play+you was'nt allowed to film-because of you having other children on your camcorder. So many parents complained that over the following years, the caretaker was allowed to film the plays+then you got charged £5 for a copy. This has happened on more than one occasion-when i have wanted to film something-not just at school-other places too.It annoys me as these are memories you won't see again+want to keep.x.

Oh how ridiculous,I do agree it's going way O.T.T on things now, even Santa claus at xmas cant sit children on his knee.

In My daughters school we've had to sign contracts stating the school can take pictures of her etc for school projects etc and for the school wall.

It always amuses me when it is announced at events that Santa has been police checked!

Whilst I think the story above is definitely OTT I can understand the santa thing. I'm not one to take tabloid scare-mongering seriously but any other job where you have direct access to children requires a CRB check now so I don't see why that would be different. A friend of mine did 3 different jobs, two voluntary, while we were in uni and she had a CRB for each one: A nursery, a playgroup and for helping with the cubs. Obviously it doesn't account for first offenses but I think it's better than how things used to be, maybe Holly Wells' and Jessica Chapman's lives' could have been saved if checks had been more rigorous then.

I do agree.
I had a CRB done for working with the elderly.
Santa is no different that said I cant see why children arent allowed to sit on his knee, etc.

I'm just back from youngest DD's pre-school sports day, and when the head play leader walcomed us all etc etc she asked if anybody objected to photos being taken by all the parents! Thank goodness common sense prevails at my DD's pre-school as nobody objected.

I have just had to sign a form like that for Shelby's playgroup, I think it's a sad world that we live in.

How sad, Over the years I have taken lots of photos of my girls on slides etc. they provide hours of humour and lasting memories for years to come. Im sure everyone had a box of family photos that come out from time to time and history is relived. What is the world that we live in coming to, its the age of the digiatal camera and yet there are so many rules and regulations, catching child hood memories of our children does not come across to me as been obscene. This is all getting way to out of hand.

Although it is good that this happens it does sound rather funny :lmao: :lmao:

That story is just silly, also I can never understand why parents aren't allowed to take photos or video at events but then can buy the photos/DVD that someone else took

I think its a money making excerise for the schools!

What next? We will be banned from taking video cameras on holiday just in case we accidently film another child who just happens to be in the pool near your child

Wonder what would happen to Disney if the ''do gooders'' banned the characters from hugging the children!!

OMG that would be horrible  ......but to be honest I don't think it would even shock me if it happened as the world seems to have gone crazy with ridiculous rules, regulations & political correctness!

That would mean the end of our disney as DD loves to hug the characters

What is the world coming to?
