I have never heard of this show on AMC before. Knew nothing about it.:confused3
A friend of mine gave me the First season on DVD. She said this is your kinda show!

:thumbsup2 AND IT IS!!!!!

It's about Madison Avenue Execs in 1960. Great story lines, lotsa twist & turns. The Set design & coustumes are first rate (from what I have been told :rolleyes1 )!

What a Flippen great TV Drama. The BEST i've seen in yyyyyyyyears!

Anybody else watch this very addicting Show? How come nobody told me?:confused3
I already missed a few episodes of Season 2, so I am gonna have to watch out for reuns.

I watched this series from day 1 and I'm a junkie! The acting is so good. Isn't it nice to see something that's not a reality series?

Funny you should mention that... Entertainment Weekly thinks very highly of the show and I decided to record tonight's episode.

If I read the summaries from past episodes will I be able to understand what's going on?

This is my newest obsession. They had a marathon a couple of weeks ago, and I got HOOKED.

Susie, you'll be fine reading the overviews. I think you'll catch on quick!

I dont think I would be able to get the full impact, by try it. So much happens (by suprise) in each episode, that you dont even see it coming.

I wonder if all these Actors really smoke in real life. You forget just how much smoking everyone done back then. Even pregnant woman while they drink their alcohol!!!!:lmao:

It sort of reminds me of the same style of Irwin Shaw books. Rich Man Poor Man, etc.:thumbsup2

Love love love this show.

If your cable has an HDTV on Demand channel, you should be able to catch the episodes you've missed. They have all of season one on there, and season two shows are available the day after they air. No commercial breaks, yay!

:woohoo: I have HDTV On Demand!!!

I too got hooked via the marathon. I really like the writing and the thought given to story arc and character development.

I agree, so nice to see a new show that isn't "REALITY".:thumbsup2

I found it!! Yay!! Thank you!!

I'm so glad there is a thread here. I watched the entire season one on demand last weekend.

Just an FYI, the American Airlines Flight 1 crash really happened in 1962. Mohawk Airlines was really in existence.

They do smoke on set.. however it is not nicotine cigarettes but herbal cigarettes. Not that it is any better, but they are really smoking!

Last weeks episode there were kids mixing drinks for the parents. My DH (born in 1962) remembers doing that!

I love love love this show. I rented the dvds and am no hooked. Second season looks good so far. Anyone willing to discuss episodes yet?

I was born in '52 and I remember doing this when my parents had friends over.

My niece got me hooked on this show. She is in advertising. I got caught up during the marathon but missed how the young girl got pregnant - do we know who the father is?

I'm glad I found you guys.

I am!

I am current up until tonight. I will watch that tomorrow morning on demand with no commercials.

Question about last week's show in white for those who are just tuning in....

Ok so in last weeks episode, was that Peggy's baby(the boy in the crib at her Mom's/Sister's house)? So her sister is in on it???

Mrs. K--

Yes, the sister and mom are in on it. I *think* that the mom and sister arranged for that person to come home with them instead of her.

Notice the scene at mass...
