I made multiple payments over the phone and used the automated system for a room only reservation this past week. The automated system told me my resort confirmation number was my payment confirmation. I hung up, called again, and requested "payment history" and the automated system then listed each day and payment amount. All correct!
When I had a MYW package back in May, I would get a Disney Destinations e-mail around 2/3am every morning after making a payment to my package listing all the information. I once asked a CM on the phone is she could send me an e-mail, and she explained to me a CM cannot initiate an e-mail. If an e-mail needs to be sent, the system automatically does it after a change like number of guests, room type, nights, etc.
