Made our ADRs! Should have done BoG first!

I was online this morning at 6:00 am, &, like others have reported (& the way it was last year as well), I was only able to make a reservation for exactly 180 days out.

At 7:00 am I called & got immediately through to a castmember (unlike last year - I was on hold at 7:00 am for 25 minutes) & was able to make the rest of our ADRs.

I first made our CRT ADR (because it was for our 2nd day) & then made our BoG ADR (because it was for our 10th day). However, I should have made the BoG ADR first. I was just really worried about CRT after reading about limited availability.

Anyway, following are our ADRs:

Saturday, 9/14 - 'Ohana, 6:30 pm - this was the ADR I made online since it's exactly 180 days out... it's for our arrival evening, & I really wanted 6:00 pm so I'll keep trying

Sunday, 9/15 - CRT, 5:30 pm

Monday, 9/16 - Garden Grill, 5:35 pm - wanted 5:30, but close enough!

Tuesday, 9/17 - Sci-Fi, 12:10 pm - wanted 11:30 am, so I'll keep trying for an earlier time

Wednesday, 9/18 - Crystal Palace, 11:40 am - wanted 11:30, so I'll keep trying

Thursday, 9/19 - Yak & Yeti, 4:45 pm

Friday, 9/20 - Mama Melrose Fantasmic Lunch Package, 12:00 pm

Saturday, 9/21 - Chef Mickey's, 9:30 am

Saturday, 9/21 - Chefs de France, 4:30 pm - it's early for dinner, but I want the kids to hopefully see Remy!

Sunday, 9/22 - <no adrs planned>

Monday, 9/23 - Be our Guest, 4:55 pm - really wanted 5:30 & the only other time available was 8:30 pm, so I'll keep trying... I was really kinda surprised since this ADR is for our 10th night.

Tuesday, 9/24 - Liberty Tree Tavern, 12:30 pm - surprised I was able to make this one because I was thinking that 9/24 was actually 180+11 & I was thinking I'd have to wait until tomorrow, but the castmember let me go ahead.

For anyone that's interested, after I made the 'Ohana ADR online, following is the order I made the ADRs when I called:

CRT
Be Our Guest
Crystal Palace
Chef Mickey's
Garden Grill
Sci-Fi
Yak & Yeti
Mama Melrose
Chefs de France
Liberty Tree Tavern

I was pleasantly surprised I had no problem w/ CRT, while, at the same time, not-so-pleasantly surprised w/ Be our Guest (especially since I was making the ADR for our 10th night) & w/ Crystal Palace.

I think (& this is just my opinion) that the castmember took a little too long in the beginning explaining everything to me - the dining plan, the credit card guarantee, having to be in the park, etc. I listened while she went through everything after I made the CRT ADR, but, when she started explaining everything all over again for Be our Guest, I politely explained that I was familiar w/ Disney dining & she really didn't need to read everything for each ADR. So then the process sped up a bit, but, by then, I think I'd lost better times for Be our Guest & 11:30 am for Crystal Palace. It's not a big deal, really, & I got all the ADRs we wanted. And we're going to Disney World! So I'm happy!

However, I think the process could be streamlined. Last year, I didn't get a castmember until 7:25 am, but, right at the beginning of the conversation, he took all my data info & my CC #, told me he'd give me the restaurant spiel at the end, then proceeded quickly w/ the ADRs, & I got all the times I wanted. I was very impressed w/ his efficiency, & I was hoping that this morning's call would be the same. And, honestly, she was efficient - I'm not saying she was bad at all. But I wish she hadn't taken up quite so much time at the beginning, if that makes sense.

Anyway, that was my morning experience!! Hope everyone else had a good morning as well! :goodvibes

Thanks for the information. My 180 days isn't for another 5 weeks, but I will be doing about half of the same restaurants, so the information is helpful. I haven't decided on my "plan" yet as to what I am doing which day and that will help decide which order I will book my ressies. As I will have BOG and 'Ohana to decide which to book first. My guess will be where they will land in my week. Next will be Crystal Palace. Enjoy your vacation.:thumbsup2

As a newbie to the person booking the ADR's is the 180 a daily thing or just 180 till check in day?

For example when my check in day is 180 days out will I be able to call and book all 9 days of my trip or will I have to call 9 days in a row as each date hits the 180 day mark?

So you can make Fantasmic dining reservations 180 days in advance? I thought you had only 90 days?

Congratulations!

We just decided last night to go in June and I got everything we wanted except BoG. It's okay--I know we'll be back!

You're welcome! I think that's probably a good order - 'Ohana or BoG first depending on which one you're going to first & then Crystal Palace 3rd. Crystal Palace shouldn't be a problem at all - I was just wanting a specific time &, while I wasn't able to get it, I got within 10 minutes.

If you are staying at a Disney resort, 180 days out, you can book 180+10 days into your trip.

For example, we are checking in on 9/14 & staying through 9/24. Exactly 180 days out from 9/14 was today, 3/18. And, today (on my 180 day), I was able to book for 9/14 through 9/24 (which is 180 + 10). I hope that makes sense!

If you are not staying at a Disney resort w/ a resort confirmation number, you can only book exactly 180 days out & not 180 + 10.

I hope I explained the 180 + 10 correctly! :) I've seen it explained much better than my muddled description! LOL!

Yes, you can book a Fantasmic dining reservation 180 days in advance. :thumbsup2 If the online system is working, you can make this reservation online now. (Previously, you had to call to make a Fantasmic dining ADR.)

Congratulations!

So glad you got everything!! :yay: And I wasn't as concerned about Be our Guest as I was some of our other ADRs because I figured, if we couldn't get an ADR for BoG, we could try the quick-service lunch!

We used to go in June all the time, & I actually kinda miss it!
