After weeks of planning & going back & forth, I made our ADRs last night & this morning!
We actually have 2 resort reservations: 1 for 1 night at the CBR w/ no tickets & no dining plan & 1 for 9 nights at the WL w/ tickets & the DxDP.
Our 180 day mark for the WL reservation is today (this morning).
But I realized last night around 11:00 pm that I might could use our CBR reservation to make our ADRs since the 180 day mark for that reservation was yesterday. And I was able to make some reservations until midnight when the site started giving me a funny error message. So I had to finish up this morning at 6:00 am. But, before I started getting the error message, I was able to book what I thought would be our hard-to-get reservations: Le Cellier, Garden Grill, Chef Mickey's, Tutto Italia, Crystal Palace, & 'Ohana.
Anyway, I was able to get all the ADRs we had planned. However, I was surprised that, for some of them, I wasn't able to get the times we wanted - even at the 180 day mark.
Our BREAKFASTS: Grand Floridian Cafe, Chef Mickey's, & Crystal Palace.
I was able to get our breakfasts for the exact times we wanted - even the 8:05 am breakfast at Crystal Palace.
Our LUNCHES: Le Cellier, Sci-Fi, Tony's Town Square, Yak & Yeti, Whispering Canyon Cafe, Coral Reef, & Liberty Tree Tavern.
I was able to get Tony's, Yak & Yeti, & Coral Reef at the exact times we wanted. I was able to get Le Cellier & Sci-Fi for within 10 minutes of the times we wanted.
The two lunches that surrprised me were Whispering Canyon Cafe & Liberty Tree Tavern.
I wanted Whispering Canyon Cafe for 12:30 pm. I was offered either 12:10 pm or 1:25 pm. This is for DAY SIX of our trip.
I wanted Liberty Tree Tavern at 12:00 pm. I was offered either 11:30 am or 12:25 pm. This is for DAY TEN of our trip.
Our DINNERS: CRT, Garden Grill, Cape May, Kona Cafe, Boma, the Plaza, Tutto Italia, & 'Ohana.
I was only able to get CRT & Kona Cafe for the exact times I wanted. CRT is for DAY ONE of our trip. I got the time I wanted, but there were no other times availabe near the time I wanted.
I was able to get Cape May, Boma, the Plaza, Tutto Italia, & 'Ohana for within 10-15 minutes of the times I wanted. But I was surprised I couldn't get Cape May for the exact time I wanted. Boma, which is for DAY FIVE of our trip, is 15 minutes earlier than I wanted. I was also surprised I couldn't get the Plaza at the exact time. It's on DAY SIX of our trip. Tutto Italia is DAY SEVEN of our trip - I wanted 5:30 pm & DH wanted 6:00 pm, so we were going to try for 5:45 pm. I was only offered 5:20 or 6:05 pm, so I went w/ the 6:05 pm. I figure, w/ Le Cellier going to 2 TS credits, Tutto Italia has become much more popular. I wanted 'Ohana for 5:30 pm (DAY NINE), but I took 5:20 pm. The other times available were 4:35 pm & 7:25 pm.
However, the one that REALLY surprised me was Garden Grill. The earliest time I was able to get was 6:35 pm! This is for DAY TWO of our trip, which is early in the booking period. Still, Garden Grill has never been this hard to get.
Even last summer, when we took my parents, I was able to get an ADR for 5:30 pm for a party of 7, in June, during the summer season. (And I didn't book it until April.) And this was after it went to dinner only.
Has Garden Grill become the new Le Cellier?
Sorry to ramble so much!! I just wanted to report on my ADR booking experience!
I'd been checking the dining reservation site & putting in our party-size & preferred times & checking availabilities for the last week or so just to see if I would have any problems. And, when I was checking, everything was showing up available. And I really didn't think I'd have many problems... I even contemplated not getting up early!
For the most part, I'm pleased w/ our times - except for the Garden Grill. And I'm very glad I got up!
