made it through ROFR - how long for documents

We got our docs a few days ago. Took 2 weeks - ish. Sent them back this morning.

Hey there, did you go through the Timeshare Store? We did and had Timeshare Title & More. Here is my timeline if it helps. Now I actually reached out and emailed the title company my self on day 13 asking about the closing docs and they contacted me back that day and sent them to me the next day so if you don't receive them soon I would suggest you do the same to head off any delays. I'm a believer in being proactive

6/16 Went for ROFR
7/15 Passed
7/29 Rec'd closing docs (14 days after passing)
8/8 Closed-Friday (10 days after rec'd docs- had foreign sellers)
8/11- Monday-Deed recorded electronically and showed on the website
8/22-(11 days from deed recorded)New contract in system- NO points
8/23-Points in system and all of it is FINALLY over

68 days from start to finish - 200 pt April UY with 200 banked 2013 points, all 2014 points and so on with owner paying all closing costs and MF at Saratoga to get our foot in the door as owners.

We will be there in 13 days for our two week trip and I'm just happy it's all over with and I can stop checking my emails for updates and calling to see if we are in the system

Good luck and I wish you a SPEEDY end to your story. The end is well worth the timeline for the $$ saved, it just doesn't feel that way as you are going through it.....it feels like an eternity.

Yes, we did use the Timeshare store. Scot is my broker and Brenda at Magical Vacation title. Brenda sent an email stating we should receive the docs within 0 days.... today is the 10th day

Weswife, I'll be interested to hear your timeline. We're Timeshare Store too (Jason) and also Brenda at Magic Vacation Title. Brenda told me in an email on Friday that it would be a few weeks until they get the needed info from Disney for the closing docs so I'm not sure what to expect... Will be good to use your experience as a point of reference.

Thanks for the timelines. I am on day 28 of ROFR, so I'm hoping to hear today or tomorrow. I am also Scot at The Timeshare Store and Nancy at Magic Vacation Title.

We passed ROFR on 8/14th too … and still haven't received closing documents. We did not use Timeshare Store.

For some reason it takes some titles companies forever to prepare these documents.

It is frustrating to have to wait so long but I guess it's the price we pay for saving a bunch over direct pricing.

It doesn't take them "forever" to prepare the documents. They have to wait for the estoppel from Disney before they can prepare the documents. Then, they usually get the documents to you that day or the next. The estoppel took three weeks for me, but it seems to come at the end of two weeks lately. If you passed on 8/14, I'd expect documents on Friday or Tuesday.

6/20 -ROFR submitted
7/17 - ROFR passed
8/5- signed closing docs
8/25 (today) still waiting on closing

Hoping it can still be wrapped fairly soon, but this has dragged on way longer than I had hoped for.

Sellers have to get documents notarized so sometimes it takes a few days.

Are you using The Timeshare Store? They have a date in the contract that the seller needs to return docs by. I was on a very similar timeframe as you, (submitted 6/16; passed ROFR on 7/15; closing docs rec'd 8/1 and returned 8/2; closed 8/14) and the deadline was 8/28.

I think it was 30 days after estoppel, which I assume was around when the final documents were sent out. I was not sure what happens of they miss the deadline, do I have the option to void the contract or does it automatically void or nothing really happens. I was not clear on that so I have not really asked much.

UPDATE: Guess I found out what happens. The closing agent has received the last of the sellers documents, but we are beyond the 30 days in the contract. Now the sellers and I have to sign an addendum to the contract to extend. I bought DVC in the past and it was no where near this drawn out. Hopefully it will be done soon.....
