Madame Leota: DL vs. MK

Does anyone know why Madame Leota at DL floats above the table while at MK she is attached to the table?

because that was one of the updates DL's got durring its recent refurb. Same with the new talking bride.

Actually the floating Leota was from last year's refurb (2005 not 2006), along with the updates to the changing portraits.

I've heard that the DL Madame Leota is now portrayed by Jennifer? Tilly...the same person from the HM movie. I thought she looked different when we were there in April. If so, have they/will do this in WDW? I hope not, I'm still one of those Disney purists...I don't like when they mess with things.

I don't think it's Jennifer Tilly. She looks the same as she always has at DL. It's just that for some reason DL's Madame Leota looks a bit different from WDW's version. I think it's mostly just the hair. At DL her hair is wilder and all over the place looking.

Why so funny? Jennifer played her in the movie, it's called special effects and makeup! And I can swear that Leota looks alot younger now in the DL ride...I'm off to do more research now.

Because in the movie she looked exactly like Jennifer Tilly, of course.

They didn't cast her and then add "age" makeup (they did tint her skin green, and add black rings around her eyes).
Biggest difference is that Jennifer has thick BLACK hair seen clearly inside the crystal ball.

Plus Jennifer has a fragile young-sounding voice (its her trademark trait) and Madame Leota in the HM has a "aged" character voice.

I wish they would bring back the giant Madame Leota to MK for the MNSSHP - which ever year 2003 or 2004 that HM came out they had the "giant head" as you entered the park... that was just TOO COOL, and I can't find a darned picture that I took of it!

Madame Leota's voice belongs to Eleanor Audley (Maleficent and Cinderella's stepmother) and the face is a Disney model maker named Leota Toombs.
