Has anyone done this? I think my 5 yr old dd would love this but not sure if she would stay without me and adults are not allowed.

I know she would stay if my ds stayed with her, he will be 11 on our trip, I know it won't be the most exciting experience for him but wondered if anyone else's ds had done this?

It says it's for 4-10 yr olds I believe, anyone know if he would be allowed to stay seeing as he will be 11? If so I'm sure he would do it to help his sister (perhaps if I bribe him with something :rotfl: )

Thanks! :)

My kids will be doing this on our next trip. But they will also be doing the pirate cruise.

I've read somewhere that these activities are actually geared to 4-12 year olds so your DS could go. That doesn't mean he will want to go.

My boys are okay with going because I told them the mad hatter comes too. I've made them mad hatter t-shirts and we read a rumour that you get desert first and that there just may be a "food fight". That was enought to get them to go. My boys also know that their sister would be too frightened to go on her own so they are willing to help her.

I've heard of older boys going to this event but I think it really depends upon the boy. If you DS is willing to go to help his sister out than okay. It is only an hour. Maybe he'll do it. Or maybe he'd be more willing to do the pirate cruise with her. Show him some articles on the activities and let him decide.

Good luck and enjoy your vacation.

DD went when she turned 4. She was an only child at that point and was reluctant about me leaving her. I brought her in and was lucky enough to have her sit next to Alice. I promised her that I would be right outside and not go anywhere. She was fine. I wouldn't make your son go with her unless he wants to. It's definitely geared more to a younger crowd. Your DD will have so much fun that she'll forget about being by herself. When you go in to get her spot, have her sit in one of the chairs next to the head or foot of the table. Alice and the Mad Hatter each sit at one end of the table.

I would really like to let DD 6 do this. And she loves Alice! But she is has food allergies (peanuts) and I am scared to leave her alone. Plus they serve PBJs at this meal. :scared1: If she were a little older, I might be able to let her do this, but I am just not comfortable leaving her alone with a lethal allergy. :sad2:

My DD5 would love this also but I don't think my boys would and I feel like I already have so much to do that is geared more towards DD then my DSs.

How much does this cost?

You cannot go into the tea party with your child. However, just outside the door is a beautiful private garden area with a gorgeous Mary Poppins topiary. It's the perfect place to sit & enjoy a good book while your children have fun inside.

It's $30.00 per child, same price as the pirate cruise which also looks really neat.

Thanks, I was actually looking at the pirate adventure as well, it does look neat and I've heard lots of positive things about it. I think he might really enjoy this (even more than my daughter). My DS likes to take care of younger ones and help them out (of course he doesn't show this towards his sister when he's around his friends, that's not "cool" you know....but I'm thinking when we're at Disney he'll be into being the big person and helping out).

Good point about the mad hatter being there, I actually think he'll enjoy it more than he might let on.

My niece went in Feb and had a great time. Only girls at her Tea Party and all seemed to be 4 to 8 years old. They do decorate a cup cake 1st. She said that the Mad Hatter & Alice have a food fight with grapes. The cost was $32 and it last for 1 hour. She had a very good time. She had Chicken nuggets for lunch. She told me a secret "the tea is really apple juice" I'm not suppose to tell.:rolleyes1

this sounds so neat.. I wished the Adults to stay in the room so bad... my 6 yr old won't stay along.. oh well.. maybe one day

my dd was 6 when she did this and absolutly loved it! they make their own cupcakes, and the mad hatter really puts on a great show. they will also come home with a picture of them with alice and hatter. if old enough, i recommend sending them with a disposable camera, they are priceless. that's my dd on the end.

My DD6 is booked in to do this and the Pirate adventure in June. It sounds great!

You can take a couple of pictures of the table set up at the beginning. Then, at the end, they tell all the parents to have their cameras ready before letting you in to pick up your child. They do provide a picture of your child with Alice & the Mad Hatter, but it's just a polaroid. I sent our camera in with my DD. The CMs used the camera to take a couple of pictures.

the cost increased to 42.00 because the food increased. i just booked her again for our july trip after reading this thread. in december, she only got the apple tea (juice) grapes, cupcakes and maybe pb&j sandwiches. now they get chicken nuggets and some other things, so i won't have to get her a lunch that day. what we loved was dd6 went to tea party, dd10 and dh went out on the mouseboats (whatever they're called) and i sat at the GF, drinking coffee and looking at all the christmas decorations.

Thought I would add pics of the Tea party as my DD loved every minute of it. Well worth the money. Here is the table all set out.
