There may already be a thread dedicated to this but I couldn't seem to find one! DF and I decided on a mad hatter cake of some sort! :goodvibes Since there have been so many variations on the mad hatter cakes, I thought it might be nice to get them all in one location. SO, if you had a mad hatter cake or are having one could you please post a pic of your cake and/or your inspiration cake? I'd like to see the different designs that everyone has chosen as well as colors! TIA! :flower3:

there are many of them shown in the wedding cakes thread, but here is mine. i loved it! i'm currently trying to find someone to make a mini version of it for my wedding anniversary this year...

I've borrowed these pics from some websites .. including this one! :rotfl:

When I first saw this I thought I recognised it... rofl It was mine. I loved the mad hatter style. I chose blue and silver to match my bridesmaids. We had Almond cake and amaretto mousse for the lower tier and yellow cake and raspberry mousse for the top tier. They do take off all the icing before they serve it so I barely got time to take in the cake but it did look fantastic and was huge. There was only 15 of us in total but we enjoyed it.
Word of warning though don't put your plate down unless you've finished eating your cake mine was whipped away by the staff while I was saying goodbye to Stan and Randy. I was highly disappointed and couldn't find anywhere to make me a mini cake while we were on homeymoon.

haha too funny!! My coordinator sent me that photo! We were doing tiffany blue as our wedding color originally and she said someone had JUST gotten married when we had went down there and that she would send me a pic of the cake!! That is funny!! Thanks for the idea! haha !

No probs. It is an amazing cake tasted soo good. I'm still bitter about missing out on tasting it properly though lol

The Grand Floridian Bakery may be able to make you a 1-tier version next time you're at WDW. I know they pull past brides' BEOs and do re-creations of their Disney cakes for anniversaries, I'm just not sure if they can do a 1-tier Mad Hatter....

I just love, love, love these cakes, does anyone know if they are also available for a DCL wedding.

I LOVE THE MAD HATTER CAKES! But I'm planning an escape wedding, does anyone know if you can upgrade to the mad hatter... if so how much does that cost? Thanks!

A two-tier Mad Hatter cake costs $450. In the past, Escape couples have received a $200 credit toward the cost of an upgraded cake, but this may have changed, or there might be restrictions depending on your ceremony site. See what your planner says! :thumbsup2

I want an unusual wedding cake and I think the Madhatter cake may fit the bill. Does the color frosting on the Madhatter cake taste good? :confused3

Anyone have pictures of unusual cakes at disney? Thanks.

I've heard they take off all the colored frosting before they serve it and there is buttercream frosting underneath... Is this right girls?

Yes, the fondant is usually removed from each piece before it is served.

We didn't use a Disney cake design, so perhaps our cake might be considered unusual....
