Mad at Delta

I booked 4 tickets from Buffalo to Orlando in March. We are going in Sept. I heard they change their schedules a lot but I only found out after I bought the tickets. I checked online yesterday and they changed my flight. I was arriving in Buffalo at 4:30pm and now I am arriving at 10:30pm. I am travleing with a 2 and 4 yr old and I don't want to sit at the airport all day. Will they do anything for me? I will call tomorrow but with so much time till my trip I feel like it is pointless.

Generally, airlines are very cooperative when there are alternative flights with seats in the same fare class as you purchased. Wtih a 6 hour schedule change, if they cannot switch you to another flight that you prefer, they'll refund your money.

It's probably not pointless, but you need to call sooner rather then later (others who are finding this out will call, so don't wait)

Go onto Delta.com and find out which flight would work better for you and ask for that one. Considering the size of your change you can also ask for a refund, but remember that you have to find a new flight. (There have been a few posters on this board who "proudly" announced they got thier money back and then discovered the "new" flights on another airline were twice as costly!)

There are LOTS of other flights on that route. I would call today!

we had the same issue with delta when we went 2 wks ago...after nearly 7 hrs on the phone with reps from orbitz and delta, we got our flights changed from a 11pm arrival to a 330 arrival so the 7 hrs was worth it in the end. Overall we had issues b/c we had trouble with our flights going down with some sorta time change and during the trip something happened and we couldnt get our passes and check our bags at WL so we had to take them on the DME bus to MCO (thank god my parents didnt have to deal with young children with car seats and strollers)...needless to say we love to fly but we will get a rental car next time lol.

The above post is one reason I don't recommend using Orbitz, Travelocity etc. unless they are REALLY cheaper. It's very hard to get the airline to deal directly with you until after the first flight. That means you have to deal with Orbitz, Travelocity etc...... Generally just adds to the mess!
