Mad about at Macy's BF Rebate

I got stuck with some dishes from Penney's last year that my Mom removed the UPC for the rebate. They were not the design I asked for and were not very good quality, but I am stuck with them. I keep hoping to break a few, but so far they are unbreakable! Try getting Penney's to accept a return without the UPC....mine won't and they also gave me clearance price credit for a sweater that I needed to exchange, even though I had the original receipt from the gift giver. I try not to buy Christmas gifts at Penney's they are awful.

Kohl's on the other hand is great! Love to buy things at Kohl's for that reason.

You got ugly dishes. You could have kept the dishes in the original box and re-gifted them to Mom next occasion.:)

Christmas Eve IS a Federal Holiday this year. Look at the first link I posted.

Source?

Playing with words. Most people are getting 12/24 off as a Christmas holiday, They're not getting Christmas eve as a holiday instead of Christmas day. Same as the Monday holidays. The holiday is MLK birthday, even though most years its on a different day.

Post office has always delivered "special delivery" and express mail on Christmas day. Express mail used to deliver Saturday, Sunday and holidays (including Christmas) without a surcharge.

I read the rebate form at the time even but it just didn't dawn on me that 30 days was the day after Christmas. :headache: Even if I had realized it was the day after Christmas (mind you I bought this at 6AM after having gotten about 1 hour of sleep :rolleyes1) I know I wouldn't have realized that the 26th was a Sunday.

They adverstised it as a great Christmas gift at a great price. They didn't post the details of the rebate forms/details anywhere near the item only that there was a rebate. The details were only handed out after you paid for the item. They made it difficult to figure out at the time of purchase that if you gave the item as a gift without mangling the box beforehand (which I was always taught was incredibly bad manners and I just can't get past this it's ingrained) you probably would be paying the full price.

Don't get me wrong I could take it back (and I'm seriously thinking about doing this). I just feel betrayed and used.
While it's understandable you're unhappy, the entity offering the rebate - most likely the manufacturer or a third party, less likely Macy's or any retail company - can't reasonably be responsibly for either the shopper's state of mind OR the calendar.

If anybody is still interested in the donut maker or the cupcake maker, but at a slightly higher final cost - Wednesday at Macy's, $20 with a $5 rebate,,, final cost $15. Now, I couldn't tell from the ad in today's paper how long the rebate is valid :umbrella:

They're not really "ugly". It's just that she showed them to me ahead of time and there were several all white sets with different designs. I said how much I liked any FLORAL design. She got me the Fruit design. Not crazy about fruit...when I looked a little mystified at the dishes, she told me I had picked out the Fruit design. I just said, "Oh, OK" I didn't want to seem ungrateful and I definitely tried to cover up that it wasn't what I wanted. They won't last long and since it's a set of 6 place settings and there are 6 people in the family. They get a lot of daily use and reuse. I let the 4 y.o. set the table!:)
