Macy's parade ???'s

We have decided to come up one day early for our WDW NYE trip so we could see the Macy's day parade.
I ahve skimmed through some posts and visited US web site. But still don't really understand.
Is it every day? And does it start at 5:00 every time? how early should we get there to be able to sit in the AP area? We will be there Dec. 26th.

PS. Is it worth it to go to US just to see this parade?

The parade is run everyday and it does start at 5 pm. It will begin over by twister and end almost in the same location. We tried to get into the passholder area at about 5:45 and it was packed. The parade is pretty good to see in person. If you would like to see some great picts goto www.ioacentral.com. If you look at the 16th? update there are a great number of pictures there. I think it will be worth the trip to Universal for the parade.

Yes everyday until 1/5/03.

Yes 5pm everyday, but from 3 until 4:45 there are preformers out posing for pictures and signing autographs.

I was like the 7th person in the AP Area at 4:05pm and got a great seat.

I think it's worth going to see, it was very enjoyable.

Cheryl....... just came home yesterday...sit by Macy's & make sure Kevin Jr has a good seat. The clowns come by with candy!! He can hide it in the hotel room LOL!!! Best viewing is directly infront of Macy's....better than the AP area. Santa stops in front of the tree for the tree-lighting. "Rockets" stop there and dance too. We watched it from there Sat & Sunday....We got there around 3:30 for a seat on the curb. The break-dancers come by around 4ish for a show also......

Well, we ended up going to the parade today. We didn't get into the park until almost 4:00 beause we hit a bit of traffic coming to Orlando. I was a bit worried about getting a spot. I think we got there just in time. We got a spot right in front of Macy's. The waiting was long but at least the break dancers kept Kevin Jr. occupied and Finnegins happy hour kept us happy!
The parade was great! The kids loved it. A little shorter then I thought it would be though.
I wanted to ride MIB but the line was 45 minutes and 30 for single riders. We were meeting people at PI and still had to have dinner so that was out. The park seemed crowded but not overwhelming, I'm sure tomorrow will be a different story!
