Macy's Day: in the rain?

I am wondering under what weather conditions the Macy Day parade might be cancelled. Very windy I can see. Any policy on how windy? And is rain a cancelling factor?

DH and I went to USO today hoping to be balloon handlers. (We did it a few years ago.)
We could not, as DH was wearing Teva's. (Lesson learned. Being a balloon handler requires closed toe shoes.)
We were going to buy him some Crocs. However it was overcast and looking like it might rain at any time. I did not want to buy shows and wait around only to have the weather turn bad and have it cancelled anyway.
We will just return Saturday or Sunday. I just did not want to make another trip on a bad weather day and find out we still cannot be balloon handlers, due to no parade.

They never cancel it.....if it is very windy they may not have the balloons...

Parade happens in rain, even in NYC....

I was a balloon handler (the elf) for the 12/20/07 parade and while they were going thru the prep and telling us how to handle the ballons they said they hold the parade even if it rains and if it's windy they may cut back on the number of ballons, the taller one's like Uncle Sam etc, but if it is windy they still try to have a few of the ballons out they simply dont raise them as high. The day I was in the parade we had no wind and we got the balloons raised way up in the air

Today was the last day of the parade -- but we FINALLY made it!
And since it was the last day we also afterwards helped deflate the balloon we were handling.
I will post some photos later this week in a separate thread.
Great weather. It was breezy, but the wind died down during the parade and we had the balloon way up!
