As always, you guys (and ladies!) are amazing! It's been a while, but I would like to post a few! I can't compete with the upclose bug eyes but I would like to join in the reindeer games as well!! Constructive critisism welcomed!!!

afternoon rose - I think I was shadowing the flower a bit, the light was from my left side, but it seems darker than it really was

I did find a bug in my collection - he was caught in a spiderweb and was hanging by this one thread!

I'm so glad you liked them - my dh doesn't get that sort of photo at all - he saw it and said, "yeah, those are eggs!" However, my dd saw that shot and thought it was totally cool!! Made her dear mom feel very good at the time!! Thanks again and have a great week!

Martha!! You must have ESP lady!! I was just thinking the same thing about yours!TOO funny that you posted just now!! I was checking out your stuff on another thread - the one about inferior cameras uniting! - your pictures on there are great!! I wanted to ask what tripod did you pick up as well as info on your lens adaptors!Give me the scoop!! Need to let Santa know my wish list!!!

From your pics it looks like you had a great summer!! I don't need to reiterate how green with envy I am that you live so close to the World and get all that practice time in!!! Keep me posted on the camera and what you've learned! I'm going to take my little guy (2.5yo) out to the Nature Center and see what I can come up with. Getting him to pose is out of the question, so pure candids it will be!! Wish me luck!!! Keep those cool flamingo shots coming, it's starting to cool down up here and they remind me of summer so much!!! Blessings on ya Martha!!

Anyone have anything new to share here? All my flowers are starting to fade, so I'm running out of "agreeable" subjects!!! Also, a question for S2 users - do you prefer the regular macro (the flower symbol) or the super macro (the S) when you take pictures in this mode? I tend to use the Super mode more than the regular - not crazy about the regular mode shots and I'm not sure why.

I love everyone's photos here, unbelievably beautiful. I love macro shots. Daannzzz, you have so many pretty pictures with wonderful color.

A couple of naive questions for those with the extreme closeups of the insects such as We-Luv-Disney's Pondhawk, do you set up a tripod & focus on a leaf & just trip the shutter when an insect appears?

Also, I just have a Sony H5 P&S & I don't think I can get a shot that close, do you zoom in on the picture after taking it or is it that close when you take it?

I know I have a lot to learn & I appreciate your patience with these type of questions.
