Maclaren Stroller Repair - NOT GOOD!

Well, our Mac Ralley Twin is broken. Apparently the last time we flew the wheel was damaged. My bil took the wheel apart and got it working again but it's not 100% since the wheel keeps falling off!!! BIL said I really need to get an entire replacement wheel.

So, I call Maclaren customer service. The refuse to send replacement parts!!!! They require you to take the stroller to an authorized dealer and have it fixed there. So, I ask where the closest dealer is. I live in Texas and the closest dealer is in Georgia!!!!! I call the dealer. He said he estimated that it would cost $25 to $35 to fix it. However, it is going to cost me $20 to $30 each way to have it shipped. So, I'm looking at $100 to fix a stroller that cost me $200.

I am so mad about this. We leave in less than 3 weeks and now I am unsure what to do. Well, first thing I'm going to do is call Maclaren again and complain. I have a friend whose Graco stroller broke and they had no issues sending her the replacement part. I just cannot believe they won't send it to me. My bil is very handy and I know he would have no issues fixing it.

Anyone else ever dealt with a broken Mac? I think I might just end up having to buy another single and taking 2 singles. Only problem is the single that would work best for us would be another Mac since my dd is 4.5 and the Macs go up to 55 lbs and fit an older kid better. But, now I don't want anything to do with Maclaren!!

Sorry to hear that Maclaren won't send you a replacement part.
I have a wheel on my triumph that isn't 100% either. Thing is that I bought it only a couple of months ago. I hope it doesn't get any worse, seeing as they won't send out a replacement.

Unfortunately, Maclaren's US customer service is legendarily bad. I did have a repair, before the regional service centers were created. It was in CT for 8 weeks, but they did pay 1/2 the shipping because it was still under warranty.

I'm looking at the same problem that you are right now, a bad wheel (it MELTED on one of the brass walk-of-fame markers at Disney/MGM, so don't pause on those in summer!). The Georgia shop is also the closest to me, and the estimate for my repair is $119. My Mac is 8 years old, so I'm seriously considering just buying a new one.

Great product, but lousy service, that's Maclaren USA for you. (Just FYI, their service in the UK is great, but that doesn't help us Yanks.)

I soooo wish I had known this about them!!! Of course, I had no idea that my stroller would get squished. I just cannot recommend Mac strollers anymore. Their line that fixing it is complicated, need special tools, etc. is complete bull. It does not take a rocket scientist to fix a stroller. OK< not saying I could do it, but my very handy bil can!
