Macgruber?

Who's seen the trailer for this? I spotted an ad for it a few minutes ago on FB. Is it supposed to be takeoff of MacGyver I didn't go looking for the trailer but a quick glance at Wikipedia said its from and SNL skit and it has a bunch of WWE stars in it.

Either way the mullet and sunglasses definitely had me doing a double take.

It is a hilarious spoof of MacGuyver from SNL. I am stymied how they are turning it into a movie. The skits are literally 30 seconds long...but ooooh so funny!

All the early reviews are calling it hilarious. If you've never heard of rottentomatoes.com, it's a website that compiles reviews from every major critic and newspaper in the country and based on their "thumbs up or down", gives it a rating. Only 6 reviews so far, but it's at 100% right now (very unusual). A few quotes:

for those that have never seen the magruber skits, he is usually trying to disarm some sort of explosive in a very short period of time, and the skit ends with him speaking and gets interuppted by an explosion.

You know... that is one SNL skit that I don't even crack a smile at. Just not funny to me. A friend of mine went and saw it yesterday - she actually loved the skits on SNL - and said it was a waste of time and money. They were very disappointed. For what it's worth.

It looks incredibly dumb to me. I think the audience is 14yo boys but they can't go alone. Weird.

I am the same way. I love watching SNL but every time MacGruber comes on either FF, if I'm alone or do something else. I just do not find them funny at all.

I saw it yesterday. It has highs and lows. Some part are so stupid that they aren't even funny. On the other hand, one scene had me laughing harder than I have laughed in the past five years. It was hysterically, laugh out loud funny. There were some other scenes that were very funny too. It does have very stupid parts though. I guess you have to take the good with the bad.

There are many sex jokes and simulations, so be very careful if you decide to take your teen. I wouldn't even think about taking a preteen or younger.

I have never seen the SNL skits, so I can't compare it to them.

I think they are the perfect comment on the MacGuyver series.

just when you think he has the bomb defused...BOOM!!

besides, if you watched the series on SNL, you would know tht MacGruber is the son of MacGyver!

Richard Dean anderson even appeared to play the part!!
