Mac Owners - rainshield question?

We have and will be bringing our Mac Quest on our trip next week, I have the included Mac rain "cover" but I can't really call it a cover since it only covers the front and not the top of the stroller. I also have a universal stroller rain cover that would cover up the whole stroller, the downside of it of course is that it folds up much, much bigger than the Mac cover. I will be traveling solo half the week with a 2 year old, so how much stuff I have to carry makes a difference. Has anyone taken the Mac cover? How does it hold up to the florida afternoon rain storms?

and we used the rain cover. Somehow they managed to make the top rain resistent and it did not drip down onto our DS. The only thing that I am sad about is that I folded up the stroller canopy still wet and it got two mold spots on it. Definitely take the cover it is excellent. And drip dry your stroller before you close it!

The universal cover I use is the Protect a Bub. It's made of water resistant fabric and folds up pretty small and not all stiff like the plastic ones.

I used it on a Pliko lite but plan on using it on my Quest next trip. I find the Mac covers fairly useless.

I was skeptical about the Quest raincover as well - but it actually is able to withstand quite the rainstorm.

We have a 2007 Mac Triumph. Prior to purchasing the Mac, we already owned a Graco rain cover. I had read on the Dis that many did not like the Mac rain cover. We did a few test runs in the rain before our Disney trip and had no issues so we went with the Mac cover on our trip. No regrets.

It worked well with our 2 year old and it folded so much more compactly than the other one we had. And before that trip we really liked that cover and had been asked on several previous trips where we bought that cover...so it was good, but the Mac was better for us.

While it may not cover your child well, we like to use ours to protect our belongings in the stroller during a rain storm. We have the triumph and use the rain cover just for that purpose. In fact, Disney is the only place we have used it.
