Has anyone looked into riding the lynx buses to and from the airport, to the TTC, and to universal if staying at an offsite property? We are most likely staying at the Clarion and their shuttle schedule is horrible. Just wondering if anyone has done that and their experience with it, etc...

You probably won't get a lot of responses from people who have actually used the lynx bus to get around for their entire trip. It's just not very practical.

Play around with their trip planner to get an idea of how long it will take you to get places.

I wouldn't stay offsite without renting a car. Yes, it's more expensive, but you can find some pretty good deals and it will save you literally hours of travel time every day.

Bite the bullet and rent a car if you can. Over the year I have never heard anyone say that using the Lynx system was a good idea. You may have to take multiple buses and spend hours of time doing so.

If you want to get a good deal with National Car Rental sign up for a KLM frequent flyer account and you get a discount number to use on national. It can be pretty substantial.

It's nothing the vast majority of us would do. I have used the Lynx system from WDW to SeaWorld, but that's about it. No transfers are needed for that run. Otherwise, it can be very convoluted and time consuming.
If you don't want to use the shuttle that is provided, I would seriously consider renting a car.

I see 3 Clarions in the WDW area. If you're staying at the one on Palm Pkwy, you can get good direct bus service to the TTC. You'll have to transfer at the TTC to the Epcot monorail, to the MK monorail, or to the MK monorail and then a Disney bus for DHS & AK. (Direct buses run from TTC to DHS & AK before 9 a.m., but not the rest of the day.) Not as efficient as driving, but doable.

If you're staying at one of the other Clarions, you would have to take 2 Lynx buses to get to TTC, which would be painful.

Getting to Universal or the airport by Lynx is generally slow, involves one or more transfers, and not recommended.

I've spent 4 hours on 3 different Lynx buses to get somewhere that would take me 20 minutes to drive. Unless everywhere you're going is a straight shot from your hotel (no transfers involved), I'd recommend not counting on it and get a car instead.

We took the Lynx bus from the airport to a hotel on #192, years ago. We saved considerable $$ but it took a couple of hours and was a lot of slugging of luggage. If you have spinner luggage, it wouldn't be so bad I guess.
