Lymph node, removal, biopsy....

I went to Dr. today for what I thought was a cyst in my cheek/jaw. I have had it for months but 2 weeks ago I noticed it was considerably larger and occasionally painful. The Dr. thinks it is a lymph node and has referred me to ENT for removal and biopsy. I know 99% it is nothing to be worried about but I don't like to hear the words biopsy. Oh, and I hope it is a little incision since it will be on my face. (It's the important things. lol)

Hang in there, WVJules. I have had two biopsies at different points in my life - one from my breast and one from my neck. Neither turned out to be cancer or anything serious at all. I hope they can perform this sooner rather than later for you since waiting can be so difficult.

My appointment with ENT is on Tuesday so not too long of a wait thankfully. I was surprised that they had availability so soon. Bloodwork is tomorrow. Blech!

I had a lymph node in my neck that seemingly appeared overnight--it was literally the size of an egg. The surgeon did a needle biopsy (not a big deal physically), results weren't good so they completely removed it the following week. This was like minor surgery as this was outpatient. It turned out completely fine. That experience definitely taught me to not get upset at the initial test results! Good luck!
