Lyft/Uber instead of park shuttles?

Hi
I am visiting WDW in mid December 2024. I have mobility issues and we are wondering if rides with Lyft or Uber are viable alternatives to shuttle busses which are often slow, crowded and have stops quite far away from park entrances.

Q1) Are Lyft/Uber pick up and drop off spots located near park entrances around where WDW shuttles drop off or is it an even longer walk? We are staying at All Star Music so I know our buss stops will be farthest away.

Q2) Are there usually long waits for Uber/Lyft rides at closing times? Longer than for the shuttle buses?

Any other thoughts or suggestions?

Many thanks

Well, the first thing to remember is that you can't take Uber/Lyft to the Magic Kingdom; it drops you off at the Transportation & Ticket Center. If you want to go directly to the Magic Kingdom, you have to take a Minnie Van (which you request through the Lyft app).

Minnie Vans have a parking slot with the Disney buses at each park.

I think the only park rideshare has a better location with a shorter walk than Disney buses is AK. For the others I’d stick to AK. For DS it depends on where you’re going, Disney drops off in the middle, rideshares on the sides.

Rideshare pickup/drop offs at parks are not always closer than bus drop offs. At Hollywood Studios they're in the same general area. Epcot's rideshare area is pretty far away (they keep moving it; so I'm basing this off of the last time I was there a few months ago). As PP said, rideshare pickup/drop off at MK is at TTC, not the park itself. I can't remember where it is for AK but PP said it was closer than buses. DS can be a far walk, depending on what part/side you're in/on.

If the walk park/bus is a concern I highly recommend considering an ECV. The real walking is in the parks and around your resort, the walk to the bus is just a small part. If you’re new to ECVs or not sure about it hop on over to the disAbilities board! They’re happy to guide first timers or even just chat about if it might or might not be a good option for you.

Ecv is where its at if you struggle with walking. Disney is miles every day! . Otherwise depending on drop off point location, I LOVE using uber to beat the busy bus. Many times Ive neared the bus area saw a mass crowd , called an uber and boom I was in the park! Bliss!
