Luvmydogs' Never Yo-Yo Again Journal (comments welcome!) *UPDATE pg. 9* GOAAAAAAL!

You are a busy girl today! You are probably snacking a lot today to make up for your lack of food yesterday. Just try to make healthy decisions and it will all balance out!

~Amanda

Congrats to your son. Sounds like you have a pretty good ball player on your hands. Don't worry about the grazing. I think it is our bodies adjusting to fall. The cooler temps are leading us to eat more frequently. At least that is my excuse. Enjoy the game tonight.
Beth

Hi there. Thanks for your post in my journal. I agree with Amanda that your snacking probably is because you didn't eat much the day before. Make good choices and you will be fine. A BIG congrats on losing so much weight. You must be very proud!:D

Hi everyone! :wave2:

Well, it has been a terrific day so far! You know those kind of days you have where you just feel so productive? Today was one of those for me. :) I cleaned our bedroom and bath, washed all the bedding, towels and rugs, did two hours of yardwork (and put up some Halloween lights!), and just finished chopping up all the veggies for tonight's dinner. We're having one of my dh's favorites, shrimp creole. As a 23-year vegetarian, I can't say it is one of my favorites (neither was having to pull the tails off all those shrimp--eeeeewwwww! :crazy2: ), so I'm just going to mix the veggies with some rice and eat that. I'm a pain in the butt.

Today's been an OP day so far, and I'm continuing with my active recovery week. I was going to do a little light weightlifting, but I'm substituting the yardwork instead! Whenever I work out in the yard, muscles I haven't heard from in a long time always tend to make their prescence known in very painful ways--YOWZA--I'm already sore! I'm going to consider it "crosstraining!" :teeth: Heh heh.

I hope everyone's enjoying a Wonderful Wednesday, and I'll see you all tomorrow! :sunny:

Hi Kim,

Yardwork definately counts as exercise. ::yes:: You are getting an amazing amount of work done today. I am sure you will get major points for making the shrimp creole. I just can't deal with the smell of raw seafood, so it is always something we get when we go out.

Keep up the great work,
Beth

Hi Kim- You sound chipper today. I wish I could borrow some of that energy. I didn't realize that you were a vegetarian. That is really nice of you to make DH shrimp creole. I love to eat shrimp but even I hate working with them raw- it must WAY worse for you.
Keep plugging away- you will be at your goal in no time!
Good night,
Mary

Hi Kimmers!

Did you say that your broke your finger on the fanny lifter?:earseek: I haven't heard that story.... do tell.;)

Don't you just love days when you get a lot accomplished around the house? I haven't had one of those days in a long time.:teeth: And yes, cleaning the house is exercise and a form of cross-training too.::yes:: :teeth: How are you feeling today??? Like this....:faint: or like this :Pinkbounc ??

I hope you have a wonderful Thursday!:sunny: Take care!

Tracy:wave2:

P.S. Congrats to your DS on a wonderful baseball game!!!!:bounce:

Hey Kimmie!!!! Congratulations on the great loss! You are so close now, I'm so proud of you!!! <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_3_15.gif' alt='Way To Go' border=0></a>

Hi Kimmie!

How are you doing? I hope that your weekend is going well. Take good care of you!

,
Tracy

Hi Kim,
I just finished reading your journal. I've been trying to get to more journals this week since I've been on vacation ( last day today-boohoo ) I find all the journals to be very motivating to keep me on track.

Congratulations on your great job so far getting back to your goal weight. I did the same thing...lost about 20-25 pounds through healthier eating and portion control and a combination of cardio and weights....don't know why I let it all slide away when I hit maintenance...I think initially it was because I was able to eat more and still maintain my weight due to my faster metabolism (with more muscle). Unfortunately, that doesn't last forever, and bad habits will eventually catch up to you....so here I go again!

You don't have much farther to go to reach goal. If we keep up the healthy habits, we should maintain our loss. That's where WISH comes in I think. All the people on this forum are great!
I'm so glad I got up the courage to join WISH. You guys are the best!

Good Monday Morning Everyone! :sunny:

I apologize for being MIA for the past four days--for some reason I was in the GRUMBLIEST of moods over the weekend and didn't log much computer time. Instead of spreading sunshine, I would've been spreading The Grumpies. I have no idea why I was feeling this way, but I seem to be back to normal this morning! :)

I weighed in at 128.5 this morning, which means a .5 loss for last week. I now have 3.5 more pounds to lose to get back to my goal weight. Last week was my active recovery week--I took a break from all itense workouts and only did some very light walking and yoga on three days. I was really anxious to see if it would affect my weight-loss efforts at all, and I can't say it really did. I did not stay anywhere near OP during my Grumble Days, exercised very lightly and still lost .5--not a lot of weight, but I honestly expected to see a gain this week. I guess as they say, exercise can be addictive--I did really miss my heavy workouts and felt a little guilty for not doing them. On the other hand, it was really nice to give my body a break and not have that "Dread Factor" on certain days when I knew a really hard workout was on my schedule. The light walking gave me a little boost and the yoga stretch felt sooooooo goooood! I'm thinking of taking my workouts down a notch. Instead of going heavy for 6 days/week, I'm thinking of going heavy for 5, with a really light day in the middle--it might make for a nice rest break along with my scheduled rest day. I'm going to give that one some thought and would welcome any opinions you may have!

I'm off to clean ds9's bed & bath--he came down with strep last Thursday:crazy2: (keep fingers crossed--dh & I have escaped it so far!) and as a clean freak and germ-a-phobe I can't wait to pull out my Clorox and scrub his stuff from top to bottom! :bitelip:

I need to get back OP today, and I'm making it a heavy workout week. We're leaving for WDW on Friday, and want to have a healthy eating/exercise week before I blow it all on Evil Mickey Bars! :mickeybar :hyper:

Have a wonderful Monday WISHers! :grouphug:

Sounds like your light week did you some good. You lost 1/2 pound, congrats by the way. You also gave your body a break. Have a great Monday. Only 4 more days until vacation.

Beth

Don't you hate it whenyou get a taste of the grumpies! I'm glad you took a week to give your body a chance to recover from all those intense workouts. Sometimes we need a bit of rest! LOL!

Have a great day today!

~Amanda

Hi Kimmers! Welcome Back!!!!

I'm glad to hear that you are feeling better today! Congrats on your .5 lb loss on your low intensity exercise week! That is awesome, girl!!!!:Pinkbounc

Did you say that you're going to WDW at the end of the week?! :earseek: Oh, please take me with you!!!! I could use a vacation before my vacation.:teeth: Seriously, I hope you and your family have a safe and fun trip! I hope you'll give us a trip report when you get back.::yes::

Hope your day is filled with :sunny: and :teeth: !

Take care, Tracy:wave2:

Hey Kim,

Thanks for posting in my journal. Since you are close to maintainance, I bet sticking a "light" day in the middle would be a great idea, and wouldn't hurt your efforts at all.

Hope you guys have a wonderful time on your Disney trip with great weather. Take a ride on Space Mtn. for me!!

Hello Everyone! :grouphug:

Well, what a wonderful two days I've had, and I'm here to tell you all about it! :)

The past two days have gone really well for me as far as staying OP and exercising is concerned. I'm back to my heavy workouts this week and yesterday did Cathe Friedrich's IMAX2, which is probably the most difficult workout I own. I think my recovery week last week really paid off, because I felt so energized while doing IMAX--I was wheezing and sputtering as usual towards the end, but I really felt great when I was done! Today I did Cathe's Pyramid Upper Body and Legs & Glutes workouts. Oooooooh, I've got some kinda burrrrrrn goin' now! :hyper: Since I was really OP and did some intense exercise, I decided to take an early peek at the scale: I lost another pound, which puts me at 127--the upper end of my 125-127 goal weight! Yahooooooo! :cool1: So many thanks go out to all of you for your help in getting me back so close to my goal! I honestly COULD NOT have done it with all your kind words of cheer and inspiration. BIG HUGS & SMOOCHES to you! :love2:

The other great thing that happened yesterday is more of a Happy Mom Moment (please stop reading if my bragging will annoy you--goodness knows how often I annoy myself  :) )! Yesterday was report card day for ds9--third grade. His lowest grade was a 96 and he has the highest total of AR (Acceleratred Reader program) points in his grade. I am just thrilled for him. He's not one of those kids for whom all-A's come easily--he really has to work at it, and he does (ummm, not that I don't have to give him a "nudge" here and there!). Under teacher comments she wrote, "Chris has an unlimited potential with an oustanding work ethic to match..." Geez, I'm just so proud of the kid--he works so hard. :) OK, end of brag!

Tonight is another busy one with Chris's last baseball game. He's got two tests to study for also. We'll have a few weeks to rest before basketball season--I do hope Chris gets the same assistant basketball coach he had last year. He was SOOOOO CUTE! All the other moms and I used to drool over him and whenever he'd talk to me I'd get all giggly. :sad2: :teeth: I'm 37 years old and grasping at straws...

Have a lovely Wednesday everyone!:sunny:
