Luther Vandross is Coming Around

Luther Vandross is finally starting to show some improvement since his stroke back in mid-April. He came out of the coma last week and is able to respond with nodding, etc. Part of the reason he can't speak is because he did have a trach tube.

Some of you may know that his weight spirals up and down. His mother said that prior to his stroke he had gained back all of the weight he had taken off not long ago. He was eating everything in sight just the day prior to his stroke.

He has a new recording coming out next week that was done prior to his stroke. Hopefully, he'll be able to make a very good recovery. It's wonderful to hear that at least he's come out of the coma and now has a chance.

That IS good news, Pam. I love Luther, he has a voice like velvet. Wishing him a continued and speedy recovery.

I'm very glad to hear he's doing better.

Apparently, his stroke was caused from his diabetes being out of control. Oprah did a whole show on this because most people don't know the devastating problems diabetes causes. I had no idea that it could cause strokes, blindness, amputations of the feet, etc. It was certainly eye opening.

I love Luther's music, and I hope he continues to improve.
