Any suggestions for a good lunch ts meal in the Boardwalk area for our arrival day? I am picky with my food ( getting distressed with all the negative food reviews) but also traveling with two kids ages 2 and 6. Trying to keep myself and them happy!

- by picky I mean I like to dine at better restaurants but that’s harder traveling with 2 small children.

- thank you for the suggestions!

You will always get positive and negative reviews for any place at WDW. Go with what you think that you will eat and don't bother with the reviews. If you are truly that picky, does it even make a difference what people say? Everyone has different tastes. For what it's worth, we thought that the pizza window had decent pizza.

With kids ages 2 and 6, keep it simple. Go to Big Grille River for basic burgers and sandwiches.

If the weather is nice, you can eat outdoors. If not, you can eat indoors.

The pizza window doesn’t get good reviews very often but we love it. We always go there for pizza and sangria. Trattoria Al Forno is an excellent Italian restaurant! Also you could walk over to Beaches and Cream at Beach Club and have burgers and sundaes.

We like the Fountain at the Dolphin and no reservations but we go there on arrival day when in that area, as I never know exactly when we’ll be arrived. Regular good food and great ice cream and decent prices. You can see their menu under the drop down ‘Things to do’ and then ‘All dining’ on disneys website.
As some suggested, Big River Grill is also a solid suggestion and doubt you would need a reservation ahead of time.
I would also add that although not a table service, a skyliner ride could bring you over to one of the quick service food courts with variety for picky eaters at any of the 3 —- CBR, Pop, AoA or even better, Primo Piatta at the RIV. This gives the added bonus for the kids of a skyliner ride and if you chose AoA a stroll through to see the Cars section which is themed so well and the big icons of Liittle Mermaid and Lion king. Nice little side adventure

I would consider Ale and Compass at YC - it will have the best food (IMHO) of all of the restaurants in the Boardwalk area that are open for lunch. Although convenient, I'm not a fan of Big River Grill. If you want burgers/shakes, etc., I would try the Fountain or Beaches and Cream. There is also a pool restaurant/grill at the Dolphin which is nice.

I agree with Ale & Compass. You could also hop on the Skyliner and go to the Riveria, Primo Piatto is a Counter Service but good.

Good idea as I would like to visit the Riviera Resort. Is it easy to get the sky liner from the Boardwalk?

I also vote for the Fountain on your travel day. No need for a reservation and the food and desserts are always a win with my family.
I never knew about the fountain-a quick google search and it’s adorable! Thanks for the tip!

The good thing about Big River is it usually walk-up at lunch. We use it as our check-in day go to since the A/C is blasting, the food is decent priced and actually pretty good, and we know we can get in quickly.

You have a ton of options!! When do you arrive? Trattoria al Forno is very good. For more casual, you could do Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club (but that books up fast). Ale & Compass at Yacht Club doesn't book up as quickly and is very good. Or, Big River Grill which is mediocre, basic bar style food.

I agree with The Fountain at Dolphin, I stay there a lot and frankly would rather eat there then B&C. I will say, the last time I was there (April) the service wasn't up to par. I saw a few people getting testy about having to wait for service/menus/their food/ etc. I don't know if that was a one off since I've usually had pretty good service but right now, the service isn't really great just about anywhere on property.

I give another vote to Primo Piatto at Riviera, it is QS but a fav of ours. The kids will have fun taking the skyliner too!
