Does anyone have any good suggestions of lunches to bring to work? I have a hard time thinking of healthy things to bring that sound good to me.

I was JUST logging on to ask the same question, Marshmelo!!

I'm looking for some great Atkins lunches. Breakfast and dinner are easy, lunch is a little more difficult.

Thanks in advance!

Well I can help with the Atkins lunches Kasar! I'm sure somebody else here can help with WW lunches. :)

Here are some ideas:

Deviled eggs and veggies & dip

Meat rollups (deli meat, spread with cream cheese, rolled around a pickle or cucumber spear)

Big salad with lots of veggies and some kind of meat on top (tuna, grilled chicken, deli turkey or roast beef, etc.) Use "real" dressing (not low fat)

Hamburger patty - reheated in microwave with cheese on top! (I make a bunch of hamburger patties on the weekend, then keep them in the fridge for breakfast or lunches)

Tuna salad (tuna, real mayo, tiny bit of chopped onion, celery, salt & pepper, dill weed)

Any meat left over from the night before (roast beef, fish, piece of steak, chicken, etc.) along with some fresh veggies & dip

For snacks I like:

celery & s.f. peanut butter (after Induction of course)
celery & cream cheese
hard boiled eggs
deviled eggs
pepperoni crisps
cheese cubes
beef stix
1/2 apple with peanut butter (way after Induction)

One of my co-workers in on Atkins and her standard lunches are either Aidelle's sausages (they are really convenient because you can just microwave them and they're ready to eat) or cabbage rolls (ground beef rolled in cabbage with a tomato-based sauce).

These are some of my ideas (I'm on a program that's kind of a cross between Atkins and South Beach):
* Taco Salad: lettuce with tomatoes, onions, a little bit of cheese, and a few olives, topped with ground beef (cooked with a packet of taco seasoning), and salsa as a dressing, and a fruit.
* Oriental Chicken Salad: lettuce and red cabbage, any type of leftover chicken (diced or shredded), some slivered almonds and green onions, mandarin orange slices, tossed in homemade dressing (white vinegar, vegetable oil, and a dash of sesame oil).
* Salmon with a side of mixed veggies (or you can slice the salmon and make it into a stir fry), and a salad on the side.
* Pork chop with sauteed mushrooms and onions, and a side salad.
* Shrimp: I love to get the frozen bags of shrimp from Costco. You can just take out what you need and keep the rest frozen. Depending on my needs, there's either cooked or uncooked. I like the cooked ones for shrimp cocktail, but be careful of the sauce (dangerous for Atkins with it's carb content). You can get the uncooked ones and sautee the shrimp in some butter and white cooking wine with some mushrooms and zucchini.
* Cobb Salad: Need to be careful with going overboard on this one since it has some bad ingredients, but you can always modify. I like to start with a bed of lettuce and top it with chopped turkey, bacon, boiled egg, blue cheese, tomato, green onion, and avocado. You can either use a blue cheese dressing or a vinegairette.

If you're looking for convenience, sometimes what I do is get a big bag of greens for Costco to last me the whole week, and I'll just bring some type of protein and other veggies to go with it.

This is a kind of high points lunch, but I LOVE it!

2 ounces of brie cheese (5 pts)
1 pear (1 pt)
5 Carrs table water crackers (1 pt) but not too tasty...
OR 6 Carrs wheat crakers (like 5 or 6 pts, I think...)
10 baby carrots (.5 pt)

This is also good and you can double the recipe and freeze the left overs to reheat at work:

Turkey sloppy joes:

1 pound ground turkey BREAST (not just ground turkey)
1 cup BBQ sauce
1/2 green pepper chopped
1/2 red pepper chopped
1/2 onion chopped
low fat wheat bun (Merita bread makes a tasty low fat wheat burger bun)

Brown ground turkey breast and drain off fat (there really isn't any to drain off). Add chopped veggies and cook until tender, 5-10 min. Add cup of BBQ sauce and heat through.

Serving size = 1 cup + 1 bun for 6 points. This is really pretty tasty! I usually just break the bun up on a plate and top it with the meat because it's a messy sandwich. You can have an apple or pear or baby carrots as a side.

I am not on atkins but these things sound so good! I have a questions myself.
1.What kind of dip can be used?
2.OMG DID I HEAR BLEU CHEESE?
3.What kind of salad dressing?
4.I need to know what pepperoni crisp is....lol.
5. And now lets get the SHRIMP!!!!!!
I love shrimp!!!!!! can it really be cook in butter and wine?
how about some garlic?
6.What other crustacians are involved? crab? lobster?
7.THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION..................I am not following atkins or anything think strictly....just modifyingmy intake but I have been cutting out the carbs as much as possible. So I am taking bits a pieces from all the info on deiting I read or hear about. CAN I KINDA FOLLOW ATKINS?
lol
your input is greatly appreciated.
Love you all

wiskband I just made some pepperoni crisps tonight for the first time tonight and DD loved them so much she wants me to make her some to have for her snack when she gets home from school tomorrow. I used turkey pepperoni and put it on 2 layered paper plates then I microwaved it for about a minute and a half. The pepperoni gets real crispy almost like eating a peperroni chip. It was very good! Enjoy!

marshmelo,
I can't offer any creative ideas for lunches, since I usually eat a 2 pt. sandwich, (1 pt. bread, 1 pt. f/f meat), and a jello cup. But, I tend to save most of my points for my evening meal. Just remember that with WW you can eat anything! Try to plan ahead and be prepared.

I also visit dwlz.com, where there are hundred's of WW losers that can give you tons of ideas for meals! You may want to check it out! It doesn't have the great WISH family, but you can learn alot there! ::yes::

Good luck!
