Lunch discussion!

We got into a discussion at lunch in the teacher's lounge about WDW. Our computer teacher just went in Oct for MNSSHP and she was giving me some advice. She commented on the "commercialism" of everything (i.e. every ride emptying into a shop) and the fact that her kids got so excited that they spent all their spending $$ on the first day.

Then the gifted teacher chimed in and said he's been once, never been back, yadda yadda and finished his tirade with "It's so phony!" But he followed with "You'll love it." Not sure how to take that.

But there again, someone passing judgement on how I spend MY vacation!

There are many people that just don't understand or get the magic of it all!

Probably one of those people that didn't plan well, didn't read any guide books, etc, and then came back angry because they had too high of expectations (like being able to walk on every ride and arrive at the park at noon and being able to do everything )
Some people just don't get the magic

I get a lot of that attitude also from people that I know. I think they are just jealous because they are unable to let their inner child out and wish they could.

I think about 1/2 of all people I encounter-- just don't get "it". Sometimes, DH doesn't get "it".

Not truly researching and planning for a WDW is the #1 mistake. My first trip was Easter week and I knew NOTHING!! We were never going back-- I too thought it was a HUGE waste of money. I was so mad and let down. Anyhow, tried it again during value season a few months later and loved it. Don't even know why we tried again, but we did and now I'm a true blue addict. We've been going every 6 months or so since then.
