This was only our second time dining at MM. We ate there as our 1st WDW sit down restaurant probably back in January 2001. :confused3 Back then, the food was good. But 3 out of 4 of us thought it was too pricey for what we got, and our service was poor. With so many other places to dine at WDW, we just had not bothered to return until today.

I called about three hours before our dining time to make an ADR. I wanted to eat at a sit down in MGM, as we were there for ESPN Weekend. :cool1:

We arrived 5 - 10 minutes before our scheduled time. We were beginning to wonder as others who had arrived after us were being seated. It seemed like parties of 4+ were getting seated faster than parties of 2. (Usually we experience just the opposite. :confused3 )

We watched a chef (?) making flatbread pizzas while we were waiting. They sell the heck out of those pizzas! Their toppings were pretty generous, except for the sauce. Barely any. I don't know if that was the person making them, or just standard for flatbread pizzas. If I was going to order one, I would ask for extra sauce. But that just would be my preference.

It was probably around 10 minutes past our ADR time before we were seated. I did not notice anyone being turned away. But MM was pretty full most of the time we were there.

We had not eaten much until then, it was early afternoon, and we had done a lot of running around already. We were pretty hungry by then.

Our waitress acknowledged us right away and got our beverages (just ice tea and Coke).

I started with Mixed Greens - Balsamic Vinaigrette and Gorgonzola cheese, and to be followed by Oven Baked Chicken alla Parmigiana - over spaghetti.

DH ordered Oven Baked Caprino Cheese in a tomato basil sauce, served with rosemary garlic crostini, followed by Eggplant Napoleon - layers of eggplant, fresh mozzarella, and gourmet tomatoes.

Right away we were served fresh, warm Italian bread. This came with a small, white, square dish containing a green herb sauce, with a small scoop of a tomato base paste in the middle. Very good.

I liked my salad. The Balsamic Vinaigrette had a bit of a vinegar bite to it, as would be expected, and the way I like it. :) They were stingy with the cheese. I had two little itty bits. Any smaller I would have need a magnifying glass. ;)
Other than that, I have no complaints. Not the best salad of this type I have had; Not the worse. (More cheese and possibly chopped pecans would have been great!)

DH really liked his Oven Baked Caprino Cheese. Although I think he got a little tired of it. He said he would not order it again. :confused3

We received our entrees.

Mine was pretty good and I enjoyed it. But like their flatbreads, this dish was skimpy on the sauce. :confused3 I was going to ask our server for a little more sauce but decided by doing this my food may be cold by the time I got it. So I just used the remaining tomato paste from the bread dipping. Regular sauce would have been better, I am sure. But this was not bad. This made me realize the dipping tomato paste reminded me of a plum tomato type sauce. :confused3 I may be way off. The taste just reminded me of that.
The chicken was good meat -- white, breaded, and not dry or greasy. The spaghetti was cooked perfect. The serviing size was perfect too.

DH REALLY enjoyed his Eggplant Napoleon. He said it was very flavorful, unique and just overall very good. He said his portion size was perfect too.

We were way to full to eat dessert.

Our server was very good and attentive, despite being busy. She not only took orders and brought some food and beverages, she cleared her customer's tables, swept the floor under her tables after her guests left, bussing the tables, setting down new place settings, and was the cashier for her customers, etc. She was a hard workin' gal.

I have read others post about slow service at MM and this made me wonder if this was the cause for most of the slow complaints. We think most WDW have other staff who do what we saw our waitress doing herself. :confused3 But she seemed to be handling it all very and not bothering her one bit.

MM was a nice change for us. Even though MM was fairly full with customers, the dining area we were in has high ceilings and the noise level did not seem near as bad as many WDW restaurants.

We are not in a bug hurry to return. But I am sure we won't wait several more years again.

We used the DDE for our discount.

Enjoyed reading your review ~ Thanx for sharing.

over the years, MM has become a family favorite:thumbsup2 we started out liking it because of the tasty food and ability to accomodate small children. now that DD and DS are older teens, we enjoy the food and also the ability to sit and talk in a quiet atmosphere without feeling rushed or "over-charactered". and they always make a special chicken dish for DS even though it isn't on the lunch menu. That's service!::yes:: MM will be on our agenda again this June.:cool1: and I recommend it to everyone.:thumbsup2

Is such good news. MM is on our agenda this trip, and we are looking forward to it. We can't make our ADR's till the 12th of March, hope we can get in.:scratchin
