Lunch at Enchanted Garden on sail away day

It doesn't open for a while after you start boarding....we've tried to eat there both times on the Dream as we like the little bit of service they provide....but we aren't willing to stand and wait....feel like we're wasting time we'll be able to use swimming, aqua duck, etc so we always end up a Cabanas. If you board right away I'd recommend Cabanas...we've had up to 10 in our party and always found a spot inside but if you come a bit later EG is a very good alternative.

I checked the most recent navigator i could find on the cruiseline blog and it shows Cabanas opening at 11:45 and EG at Noon. We'll likely be there early but I am ok with walking around a bit before EG opens.

We did Cabanas on our first cruise and had a hard time getting a table. THe next year we did EG and loved it. Almost like a little secret place to eat since the staff is really trying to get you to go up to Cabanas.

Hello everyone, I am sure there are posts on it somewhere but I was wondering if anyone has done Enchanted Garden for lunch on sail away day. We did Cabanas last time but I would like to try something different. Any help is greatly appreciated.

We were actually escorted there by Ivan (who actually ended up being our head waiter). We had just walked in and been introduced and he approached us and asked if we were hungry. We said we were and he escorted us to the Enchanted Garden. It was lovely and quiet and a wonderful first experience on our first Disney cruise. We loved the selection and it was so elegant.

Mac/cheese and tenders are available upon request of your server...
We totally prefer the sit-down over Cabanas... my original reasoning was so ds didn't see the pool 'til after he had some lunch, as it would have been a battle to get him out once he got a glimpse... and now, it's just tradition!

So for EG during Embarkation day, if there is no Tenders or Mac/Cheese in the Buffet line, we can ask our Drink Server to get us some? I was looking over the Embarkation lunch menu from allears, and didn't really see any of the common "Kid Food". I am concerned about going to Cabana's during the first meal, as we will have a total of 5 kids to manage along with our carry-on luggage's (2 families). But we'll see. Also, so Flo's is open as well during lunch on the first day on the dream?

Just a suggestion, get tables by the pool and go to Flo's and get "kid food" for the kids. Cabanas is located on the same deck as the pool so after you get the kids settled go get food from Cabanas and you may bring it out to the tables by the pool. The kids can eat and then swim and you can hit the buffet as many times as you like.
