Hey all! We are heading to the World the second week of December and are doing MVMCP on the 13th. I am wanting to leave MK after a couple hours to go check out some hotel decorations and get some lunch before heading back for the party. Any suggestions?

any of the monorail resorts would be great and easy to get to. grand floridian cafe has a nice lunch. don't forget to go to the lodge and see the decorations and the tree! at the GF is the 'life size" gingerbread house. wonderful. have a great trip!:yay:

If you're going to be checking out the Epcot-area resorts, I recommend Beaches & Cream at the Beach Club. If you're going to be at the monorail resorts, I've heard great things about both Kona Cafe and Grand Floridian Cafe but I haven't tried either of those myself yet. I think your idea of having lunch before the party is a great one. We went to LTT during MVMCP and I regretted it because it took away too much time from the party. Enjoy:goodvibes

oooohhhhh.....littlestinkerbelle good idea! be sure to go to the boardwalk inn for the carousel.:yay:

We were there at Christmastime last year. If you are at the Magic Kingdom, I would suggest riding the monorail around and having lunch at the Grand Floridian Cafe. The beautiful Gingerbread House is a must see.

Also please make sure to check out the Christmas Tree in the lobby of the Wilderness Lodge. And the carousel at the Beach Club. Amazing!!

Thanks for all the help! I've heard that a fun trip to take is to ride the boat over to WL (and of course, check out the decorations!), then catch another one over to Contemporary. From there we can go to any of the Monorail resorts for lunch or sightseeing. But how long to those boats really take? I'm thinking we're gonna leave the park around noon or so but want to be back at the latest by 6...

Would we really have time to eat lunch, see at the very least the WL and GF decorations and still be back with plenty of time for the party?

from MK to WL about 20 mins on the boat. the little boat from WL to the contemp takes about 5-8 mins. you will have plenty of time!:yay:

Thanks so very much!! I'm so excited about the trip... and am heavily anticipating the release of hours/EMH! It's driving me NUTS!!!

Any CS on the monorail is good - the GF is a great place to go - if you want to take the boat to WL, their Christmas decorations are tremendous also.

If we go from MK to WL, do we have to take a boat to get to the Monorail loop, or could we take a bus to the TTC and catch it from there? Which one is more efficient?

Just walk to the boat docks in front of the exit fom MK ad the boat to WL is there.

There are several good choices, but I'll throw-in for the Grand Floridian Cafe as well. :earsboy:
