Luggage transfers

We will be staying at the Animal Kingdom and then switching resorts to the Beach Club. From what I understand they will transfer your luggage between resorts. Do you bring the bags down to bell services or do they pick them up in the room? How far in advance should you call bell services to do the transfer? I am assuming the bags will be brought later in the day, and are they delivered to your room like the magical express, or do we just get them at bell sevices? Also, on the flip side we were considering just getting a taxi and bringing the luggage ourselves. Where do you call a taxi from, and does it take them long to arrive? How far is the drive from Animal Kingdom to the Beach Club? Any idea of what the taxi fare is between the two reaorts? Thanks in advance! :)

When we switched from WL to Pop I called Bell Services the night before to let them know I'd need a transfer. Then I called early the next morning to let them know the bags were ready. A CM came up and tagged all my bags, to include noting things that were breakable and things that needed to be refrigerated. They took the bags and I left for the park. When I returned and checked in to Pop I just let Bell Services there know that I was ready for my bags and they brought them right up. Super easy!

So you even had them transfer items that needed to be refrigerated? I was wondering about this. We will be transferring between POFQ and OKW mid-stay, and I was worried about using up whatever we had that would need to be in the fridge.

Thanks for posting the answer to this question. I was going to post the same one.

Has anyone else had any other experiences with this?
