Hi all! Just wanted to confirm - with a split DVC stay, will Disney still transfer luggage from your first resort to your second? I wasn’t sure if this has changed since the reopening. Thanks!

you might be better off taking your luggage to next hotel yourself and do early check in. There are as many good stories about this as there are horror stories . LOL. No kidding, read around on here and see what ya think.

Have there been any recent horror stories?

seems like yes, look back at recent trip reports, at least that's what I do.
Darn. Not what I wanted to hear. I was considering a split stay in May. Now I’m thinking twice about it. Are things getting lost or are bags just getting delivered late? I had read one story from quite a while back where they didn’t get bags until very late but I haven’t seen any other issues lately. Maybe I just haven’t been paying attention.

We did a triple split stay in February and luggage transfer worked just fine. We went from Caribbean Beach Resort to Grand Floridian Villas then to Riviera. Each time we took luggage down to bell services in the morning, went to a park for the day, then on to the new resort where we picked up luggage at bell services. We also had luggage held at bell services on our last day while we went to a park and before Magical Express picked us up. No problems, just remember to tip.

I've done many spilt stays and always (even when I have a car) have Disney transfer our bags and groceries. I have never had anything but fantastic service. The latest our luggage has ever arrived is 5. It's normally closer to 3:30.

Like pretty much every other business interaction, negative reviews/comments about Disney's luggage transfer service outweigh the positives without taking into account the vast majority of people who are satisfied and don't bother to comment. Human nature is to complain, not praise.

Now, do things go awry occasionally? Yes, of course. But it's a very, very small percentage of the total number of bags transferred every day.

I will actually be doing yet another luggage transfer tomorrow morning.

Split stay last November BWV to AKV and another in March SSR to AKV. No issues with luggage/grocery transfer.

I wouldn’t hesitate to do it again.

Did a transfer from Poly to Riviera today. Bell Services at Poly (Ron) was efficient as ever. Transfer went off without a hitch. Bags were at Riviera by 3:30.

This August will be our first split stay at 5 different DVC resorts. Please help me with the tipping. Tip at drop off, pick up, or only if they bring bags to your room? How much per bag? Minnimum if you only have a couple bags?

We are doing a split stay and will have our own vehicle. I think we will just transfer our bags ourselves, but will I be able to have them transfer our cold groceries?

I've never tipped at drop off. I bring my luggage (generally just one suitcase) and hand it to them at the Bell Services desk. But at delivery, they always bring my bag up to the room, and a couple times they've offered to go get ice for me. Oh, and since I'm not too strong, they lift my suitcase onto the folding luggage rack. So I always tip $5 then. Interested in other answers though.

I usually ask Bell Services to come to my room to pick up the bags where they tag them. I generally tip $5-10 depending on whether I have a bag to be refrigerated along with luggage. I then head out to the parks and will tip the same when I have the bags brought to my new resort room later in the day.

You probably can, but why not transport them yourself? You can ask for the cold groceries to be refrigerated when you drop off your bags at the new hotel - or if your room is ready, you'll have everything with you.

We did a split stay last January, Grand Floridian to BWV, it all worked smoothly!

We are heading straight to the park on our check out day. Not sure when that day we will check into our new resort.

We did this 2 weeks ago.
They picked up our luggage at 7 am, including cold items from the frig.
I don't know what time they arrived at the other resort, but when we went to the resort at 4, bell services had everything.
I didn't notice any difference this time versus pre-covid transfers.

We’re planning on renting dvc in August for one night then staying at AoA (non-dvc) the rest of the trip. Will they transfer from DVC to Disney resort? I know they do dvc2dvc and resort2resort. Just wanting to confirm.
