Luggage Transfer to MIA

We are hoping to spend the day in Miami South Beach area after disembarkation before flying out on a late evening flight from MIA. Has anyone ever had Disney take care of the checked luggage transfer to the airport without you being on the Disney transportation to the airport with your bags? We want to take advantage of Disneys's checked luggage service but not have to go to the airport ourselves until later on our own.

Has anyone done this or know if can be done? Thanks.

I have read of people being able to do this from WDW resort to port. There's a charge for it, I believe equal to one actual transfer. Not sure it's doable from port to airport.

The checked luggage program is the onboard airline check in. I'm not sure that you can do it just for your bags and then catch the plane yourself, as to participate (at least from PC/MCO) you must have purchased AT LEAST your air travel or transfers from DCL.

I'd suggest calling DCL directly and asking about the possibility.
