Will DL transfer luggage from resort to resort?

I am thinking of booking one night at PP or DLH. GCH is costing over 400.00 a night. (OUCH!)

If I can just wake up and have bell services move my bags from room to room, it would make is much easier than lugging themselves to be at EE at 7:00 am the next day.

WDW offers this service and I love it! We always book a value resort for the first night of the trip since we arrive late in the day and then move over to deluxe accomodations the next morning, with WDW hadling the bags from room to room.:)

Thanks in advance for the replies!:)

Yes they will move your luggage over but you have to walk along with them or at least meet them at the bell desk and get the luggage claim check at the new hotel's bell desk.

We have never minded that because at the same time, you can check in even that early. I am convinced that checking in early gets you the better room too! The only bummer is that you tip both ways and that can be $$ if you have a ton of bags. The last time we switched from PP to DLH we had so much stuff we ended up just driving over and while DH dropped off the luggage, I went and checked in and since we too were doing ee, it was early enough there were no lines and it was quick and easy plus he carried the luggage from the room to the car at PP so we saved tip money. Only once was the room ready that early, most of the time we had to wait until after 3 and once more like 4 so keep that in mind that you won't have a room to go to for that whole day. Still I think it is a good idea to save money when you are getting there late but I am not sure that staying at a resort hotel is that big of a savings when you could be over at harbor and just drive over early in the morning just as easily.

Fully agree with PP, just check in early and get your keys/room number later!

Get the keys later? Then wait in line again? At WDW they give you the keys but not the room number when you check in early. Then after check in time you call the front desk from any phone and they give you the room number.

Do they offer a convenient way to get the keys? :)

Well actually now that you mention it, one time we were given the keys and told to call after 3 (and I know because we used them at the pool all afternoon) and then another time we had to go back up for the keys. (there was no wait since no one was at the desk) Not sure if it was just luck of the draw of who checked us in not knowing to give us the keys the other time. I didn't care either way!

Hope others can let you know what happened with their early check in!

They have always made us go back and pick up the key. Once we stayed at the park really late after checking in at 7am and did not pick up the keys until around 10 or 11. All of the sudden our DTD view was a pool view-grrr! Since then we have always gone back at 3 to get the key and never had the room switched again.

If you are in DL or CA, any store or even the little open air type gift shop stands have phones and will call for you to see if your room is ready-very nice about it too! I suggest you start calling around 2 and then every 30 minutes and the minute they say that it is ready, have someone go pick up the keys. You go to the desk at the very right hand side, not the original check in line and there has never been a line there, maybe one other person ahead of us. It is quick and easy and usually I leave DH with the kids in the park and get the key and call for the luggage, coffee maker and rollaway and can easily meet them back at the park within 30 minutes. Sometimes I take this time to put out special surprises from Tinkerbell so when the kids come see the room for the first time, they are so happy and excited!

Everytime, I have checked in and the room wasn't ready, they gave us the keys and just had us call later. There is no reason to stand in line again, or do anything but go to your room with your room key (now activated). Once you are in your room, you can call bell services and they will bring up your luggage for you. :)

Have a wonderful trip!
