Luggage Transfer Before Stay?

My family will be arriving late in the evening the night before our reservation begins. We are planning to stay at an airport hotel that night and take DME the next morning. My question is can we just take a small overnight bag and let DME transfer our luggage from the airport using luggage tags even though we won't be checking in until the next morning? Anyone have experience with this?

TIA!

No - there won't be anyone from DME behind the scenes after 10pm to pick up your bags so they will spin around on the carousel until the airlines grab them and lock them in the airline office. You would then need to visit the office with your bag check claim and retrieve them prior to checking in for DME.

Even if you arrive prior to 10pm your DME and luggage transport eligibility is for during your resort stay, not before or after. Since you wouldn't have a room for them to be delivered to I don't know what the luggage handlers would do. Honestly I wouldn't take this kind of chance with my possessions.

Folks who arrive the day before the resort stay should pick up the bags from baggage claim after landing and then return to use DME with the bags. The driver will store them under the bus for you.

OK, thanks. We will be arriving well before 10PM.

I'm curious, where would they take your bags? You don't have a resort stay on the day you are expecting them to pick up your bags. Your stay starts the next day. Until your stay starts, you don't exist to Disney. You have no resort, no room. No place for your bags to go. So, honestly asking, where would you think they'd take them?

ETA - I do suggest checking out the prices and compare the rates of the MCO Hyatt to a Disney Mod or Value resort. MCO Hyatt is often pretty expensive. I always compare the prices and we always opt to go on and get a room at one of the cheaper Disney resorts so we can go on to Disney. That way, Disney can get our bags and then we let them move us the next morning

I agree with checking the cheaper disney resorts, especially since you are arriving "well before 10pm". If I was arriving super late and just didn't feel like dealing with it, then the airport hotel is fine. But if you can easily hitch a ride on DME and then chill at a disney resort for the evening then that seems ideal. They will transfer your bags to your other disney resort through bell services the next day.
