I just booked room only through Disney and are using the ME just for our return back to the airport--and using a rental to get to Disney---will we still get luggage tags or is that for packages only? Thanks!!

There are two different things that are called luggage tags on this forum. These two kinds of tags serve entirely different purposes and each kind has an entirely different appearance.

There are the bright yellow, barcoded luggage routing tags for inbound Magical Express service. In a way, these are like airline luggage routing tags. These are the tags that folks have been eagerly awaiting as their travel date approaches (and that Disney failed to send out properly, especially during the early weeks of ME).

Then, there are the luggage ID tags with Tinker Bell or the castle that are sent to people who book packages.

There is no reason that you should receive either type of tag if you didn't book inbound ME service and you didn't book a package. However, there's been at least one report on this forum from someone who received the yellow ME routing tags in the Magical Express packet, although only having booked ME for the return. Also, I once received luggage tags from Walt Disney Travel Company, even though all I did was to buy Disneyland tickets through AAA. So you never know.

I only used the outbound with ME, and I got the yellow tags with my package a couple days before my trip.
