Hi all.....

We just got our docs for our Cruise! It looks lke they gave us 2
luggage tags for each of us. does anyone know if we can obtain
more luggage tags if needed?

Thanks

Your only allowed two checked (tagged) suitcases per person. Everything else is a carry-on. I do not know if you can obtain more tags - maybe but for $$$. If you need more space, buy BIG suitcases (38" pullmans are fairly inexpensive at Walmart and Target)

This is not true. You are only allowed 2 checked bags by the airlines but DCL will give you more at the port if you need them. We had extra bags we didn't want to do carry on with and had them taken with the rest of our luggage at the port without a problem. We did not fly so the airline limits were not an issue.

You've heard the old saying: Lay out everything you think you need, then put half of it back in the closet.

Or the other one: There are two types of travellers. Those who pack light, and those who wish they had.

Seriously . . . unless your suitcases are tiny, I'd suggest that you re-evaluate what you're planning to bring along. You really won't need more than two suitcases of clothes per person, and it'll all be in your way in the stateroom.

::MickeyMo Recently, I was told by the airlines that my bag was over 50 lbs, and next time they'd have to charge me extra. I'm going to try to pack ligher this cruise !::MinnieMo

Nope, you are only allowed two bags per person.

Happy packing!

JetBlue the limit is 70 pounds! I had one suitcaes of clothes and one for my daughters meds that I carried on. Next time I plan on having one medium size suitcase for clothes and that is it...I packed way to many clothes and WAY to many pants. I only wore them for dinner so I really only need 3 pair since I do laundry on board. I always have some down time so no big deal to throw a load of laundry in. We actually did it twice this past cruise and the laundry room was never crowded when we were there. I find it easier to do laundry than to pack a heavy suitcase and drag it around. I hate packing dirty clothes in my suitcase too so I make sure I do a load as soon as we get back tothe ship from castaway Cay so I can go home with nice clean clothes and just put them in drawers.

I thought doing laundry on vacation was against the law????:hyper::confused3

OMG! I understand! I was fine flying from NY to FL BUT on the way back, MY suitcase gained 12 pounds and I had to pay $25 for the extra weight since the weight limit is 50 pounds!

The Song (Delta) rep said, I could certainly try and shed the extra 12 pounds from my suitcase and I indcated it was all dirty laundry and there was nothing much I could do! I hope Delta/Song decides to raise the limit on the luggage weight to at least 70 pounds!

Wife just packed us for our departure Sunday and we're doing a land/sea with having to check only three bags, and one of those is bottled water and snacks. We did a load of laundry last time and it helped a lot. We're even taking soap and quarters this time.

Don't tell anyone but I wore the same two pair of shorts over my bathing suit (around the pool) all 7 days and only washed them once. :bounce: Pack only what you will wear.
Seriously - no one is watching what you wear - except on formal night. Lots of us dress up 5 days a week and are not dressing to the nines when we go on vacation. We're clean but we're not walking the runway.
I read this tip once - get away from packing each person their own suitcase-in case ONE, just one, gets lost. I pack by the outfit combining between the three of us. Since kid outfits are lighter it actually distributes the weight more evenly.

I'm with the folks who suggested combining stuff for everyone in each suitcase so you're still "covered" in case one suitcase gets lost.

I also second the motion to pack WAY less than you think you'll need. Besides it gives you a great excuse to pick up an extra outfit at St. Thomas or St. Maarten or Nassau. Several folks have mentioned that they usually purchase t-shirts as souvenirs so they don't pack as many of those.

We found great tropical shirts for DH in port. Look great and wash like a dream.

For our 10 day combo 5/1 Magic and WDW trip I had three outfits that I didn't wear at all and I thought I was packing light.

One thing I brought that I absolutely would bring again was a light fleece jacket (Old Navy). Wore it on the plane and occasionally on deck in the late evenings when it was windy.

This is only true if you are flying. We had 6 bags between the 2 of us not counting my carry-ons. Carry-ons were 3, one bag with meds, one with my needlework and my back pack.
