We fly into Orlando a week prior to our resort stay at disney. Can we tag the bags we won't need till we get to disney and have them go to the resort a week ahead of our arrival?

I assume you're talking about Magical Express and the answer is no. Magical Express is not a luggage service. It is a free service for transporting guests (along with their luggage) to the resort. Disney will not transport just your bags and hold them for a week until you check in.
Perhaps this is not an agreed upon subject. But we often fly to MCO have our bags tagged and rent a car. We go check in the resort to the park for day, and at night our bags are waiting in our room.
Never had an issue doing this even when we've flown in a day early.
Would it work if we are a week early.
We have a day at Cocoa Beach then a DCL cruise before going the WDW. I don't want to have to haul all our luggage that we won't need till we go to WDW. (We are a family of six).
If using the luggage tags isn't an option a week in advance then I'll just haul the extra luggage to the resort before going over to cocoa beach. I know they'll hold it for me.
