Well it’s finally here!! The hubby and I are finally a few days away from our first trip without the kids. BUT about a month ago I changed our hotel AGAIN! I got the yellow ME tags for our luggage but they had the old resort. I called about a week later and was told they mailed new tags. I haven’t gotten them yet and we leave in a couple days. I called a couple days ago and that person said they didn’t send new tags because they already mailed them. So I said I was told there’s tags were mailed so she looked at my reservation and said she did not see new tags being issued. She said to just use the tags I got. But all I keep thinking is they have the wrong hotel on them, should I just use them anyway and hope my luggage gets to the right place?

I wouldn’t want to spend time tracking down errant luggage. We booked too late to get tags a few weeks ago & picked our bags up ourselves. It only took 20 minutes extra & the carousels are just above the ME area.

If your room isn’t ready when you arrive just drop the bags with bell services & call them from your room later to have them delivered.

Draw an X over the resort name with a permanent marker, and write the correct resort name on it. There might (or might not) be a delay, but they'll get the bags to you.

I am a last minute hotel changer. I often find the room/hotel I want pops up available at the last minute. I've never had a problem getting my bags. I did note in July (we changed from WL to BWI) that new tags were placed on the bags by Disney that were different then the normal yellow tags and I don't think I had seen that before. As l think as long as the reservation number is the same and it's not a new reservation you shouldn't have any problems with your luggage. I will also say that luggage delivery has been very poor recently, both for my vacations and friends and family. It's been taking ages to get bags delivered. If you're flying in at a time when your room may be ready (3pm-ish). You might find it more convenient to just pick up your bags at the airport and bring them yourselves.

The bar code holds your updated resi, that's what they go by. If you want to cross out the info go ahead, I never felt the need. We have changed last minute and never had a problem receiving our bags at the correct room.

Good to know.

If you're concerned, leave the yellow tags off. They can still get your luggage to you without the tags! Make sure you save your checked luggage receipt from the airline (usually it's the rest of the piece they peel off and put on your suitcase). What you will do is, when you first check-in for Magical Express, let them know that your luggage does not have the yellow tags. They will ask for your luggage receipt and a description of the luggage. It will arrive in your room! I once had one more piece of luggage than yellow tags. So we had two suitcases with the yellow tags and one without. I gave them my receipt and kind of wondered if the third piece might arrive later than the rest, but it didn't. It all arrived at once, approximately three hours after we got to our resort. Since then I had one other trip where our yellow tags never arrived. I once again gave them our luggage receipts, and the bags arrived without a hitch.
