I am looking to buy new luggage for our trip in JAN. I like using a hanging bag for my clothing, however, the one I currently have doesn't have wheels & it's heavy to carry. We drive, so I'm not concerned about checking it on a plane. Also, we borrowed suitcases from my parents last year to pack our kids' clothing (twin 3 year old boys), so I need to find something for them as well...I'm thinking one of those expandable top, rolling suitcases?

Does anyone have luggage that you are crazy about & would recommend others buy? If so, what do you have and why do you love it so?

TIA for your assistance...

We started out years ago with the hard sided, monkey jumping proof Samsonite luggage just for the bouncing the airlines give to a bag. Now through the years and many different means to traveling to Disney, we opted for the rolling duffle style bag. They are soft sided, take a good drop and do roll. The thing we appreciate about rolling duffles is that you can cram more into something thats not hard sided. My wife and I go with the one each rolling duffle and one each carryon, whether by car, plane or train. We have to tote them so each of us has one rolling bag and one shoulder bag to make our way without looking for baggage help. We've been down to Disney for over 10 nights, don't iron or do laundry and these bags suit us to a tee plus they are not expensive.

pepe of ohio---Thanks for your insights. I definitely think rolling suitcases are the way to go. Good idea about being able to fit more into the soft-sided cases, too.

Well, the luggage I'm just crazy about is made by TUMI. It's also got a price point higher than the average once a year vacationer wants to pay.

That said, the JC Penney luggage is surprisingly durable for the dollar. We've got a couple pieces of that that is ten or more years old, and has probably 100,000 or more air miles on it. It's often on sale 25-50% off.

Seriously, they have many major brands, including Delsey, Samsonite, American Tourister, Kenneth Cole, Atlantic, etc.

Their prices cannot be beat.

I buy all my luggage there (except my Mickey set ;) ).

We use the cheap lagguage. My brother in law is a pilot and he doesn't even use nice lagguage. lOL I go to Walmart and the biggest allowed but only fill them half way. That way you have room for goodies that you will want to bring home. Are you using ME?

We're driving (not using ME), so it doesn't really matter if the luggage looks like everyone else's. Thanks for your responses. I really have to get on this...I don't want to be shopping for luggage the week we leave.

I have gotten several pieces of Eddie Bauer luggage at Target. I keep watching and I always get it for at least 50% off and sometimes, I have gotten it for 75% off. :thumbsup2 It has held up extremely well. I would buy it again. I would also recommend a rolling duffel bag for the kids stuff. They hold tons and EB makes them too.
Good Luck. :)

I just bought two sets of Mickey Luggage from DisneyShopping.com for $88 with free shipping. Each set is four pieces and is sage green with Mickey adorning the front of each piece. Is this a good price for two sets and is it good luggage. My husband will kill me if I bought junk just because it had Mickey on it!princess:

I need some new luggage as well. I have not really bought any yet ,however I did buy something for my son to put his stuff it.

Its a 30" rolling duffle bag it was 29.99 and I got it for like 19.00 a week or so ago. it has pockets on it as well. then my ds who will be 11 can pull it along ,there is enough room I think for him and his 5y/o sister to put clothes in .However I want to leave space to have room to bring things home in.:thumbsup2
