It usually doesn't matter how many bags we bring since we drive to WDW but flying & using ME, we will be arriving late at MCO so I started thinking that may be the perfect way to ask DH if we can get new luggage. It went a little something like this..

Me: DH, since we will be arriving at WDW so late, I've heard it takes a whie to get your luggage to your room. So maybe if we bought 2 new 29" wheeled suitcases it would make it easier on you to haul to the ME bus on arrival night. (you see a friend of mine just went for Easter & bought 2 of these for her family of 5 & it worked great for them - she also got them for $30 each)

So of course he agreed, since its making it easier for him.

Really though, do you think we could put all our stuff in 2 of those? I planned on maybe sending a box fedex to the room ahead of us with diapers & a few other odds & ends (but DH got me worried about - what if the box doesn't arrive, etc., etc., etc.)

We've never used ME either. So, either DH will tote luggage to ME bus or we'll pack what we need that night & next day in carryons - sounds like I'll need to work on possible packing lists to see if that'll work.

So, what about the luggage? Will it work?

It depends on what you will need to pack. My dd and I traveled to WDW during the summer and only had one of the wheeled 29" bags, and a tote bag apiece. We had no problems at all. Now, my dh usually needs more room. Don't know why, he just tends to overpack!! If you can get by with a minimal amount of stuff, then go for it. Try a 'test pack' run and see how it works out.
Even when checking bags, we use three/four of that size bag. We seldom use anything larger...it's just a pain to lug around.

With the 29 inch you are getting close to the allowable size for airlines anymore. I believe it is 62 inches and they are measuring lately. Our regional airport measures everything they might even think comes close. And watch the wait with the larger suitcases it is easy to overpackl

I tend to like smaller luggage - easier to get around. There's really no need to try and cram everything into two bags. If you don't want to try and fit everything for the first night in your carry-ons, put your first night's stuff in one checked bag WITHOUT ME stickers, but do put the ME stickers on any other bags you check. Go ahead and pick up the one bag yourself, and let Disney deliver the others in the morning.

I guess smaller luggage is easier to tote but my line of thinking was I'll be with the kids so DH would really be getting it by himself. So, 2 might be better than 6. DH actually went check out the ones I was talking about yesterday.
