Luggage check in to MCO ?

Any idea if the airport service where you could check your bags into MCO right outside the hotel is restored or when it will be?

It’s long gone. Sadly! With DME going away at the end of the year, it’s not likely to return. I also believe the company either went out of business or was bought out. Others on this board will probably have more details on that. You have to retrieve your bags at MCO, too. They do not go directly to your resort anymore. When we were waiting in line to be assigned a bus (a few months ago), the group in front of us didn’t have any luggage. Fortunately the CM noticed & asked them where their bags were. They had no idea they had to pick them up at the baggage carousel themselves. They had to go back and find their luggage. Good thing they were still at the airport & had not made it to their hotel!

My local UPS store advertises that they can ship your luggage any where. No idea what it costs.

I don't remember if it was on here or on another forum, but there was a recent report from someone who used Bags, Inc. for luggage transfer and it was a nightmare. They landed in the morning and their bags did not get located until late in the evening and not to the resort until after 1am.

Yet one more guest amenity cut. I really loved not having wrangle luggage thru the airport and just have it appear in my room! Then going home not having to wait in airline line at check in. Loved being ticketed, just go thru security and on to gate.

I had always enjoyed it but the last time we went in 2019 was the first time I went with children as I had an 18 month old. With all the stuff we had to lug around it was nice not having to go check in bags before our flight. When we are going in February we will now have another one in tow, so 2 kids under 4. I hope that service comes back as it would be a godsend.

FYI bag check in at MCO was a nightmare. The line for American was crazy long. Security was even longer. Give yourself plenty of time.

We got lucky when we went through, but other trips we've seen huge lines to get to the kiosks.

I have gotten used to taking just a carry on and doing laundry in the villa halfway thru the trip. My wife has different ideas thus I do have to do the luggage tango with strangers as well. Miss the delivery for her!
