Just back from a 12 night stay over Christmas with the whole family. We had two 2 bedroom villas for all of us. Eight of us arrived 5 days sooner, and when we checked in they were at 99% capacity we were told, so we didn't get our Turtle Pond request for Building 33 (love the golf and water view there). We were instead only given the option of building 51 if we didn't want to move for the whole time (which I don't when I buy 2 weeks worth of groceries and put up our Christmas decorations). So we grudgingly agreed and were in a second floor unit in 51. My hubby was not happy to see the highway traffic interfering with his golf view. By the second day he had enough, and went back to Hospitality House to get some help. They were wonderful, and we were moved to building 47, guaranteed to not have to move, and my sister's family would be in the same building when they arrived on the 19th. The best part was our view - we were in 4730, and were pleasantly amazed at 9:30 every night when we could see Illuminations at Epcot without anything blocking our view. We could even see Wishes between some trees in the other direction. Sooooo happy!
Another plus to me was the renovations. We loved the decor, loved the lamps in the master suite, and the 'wood' floors were easy to keep clean with a simple sweeping every other day. My only complaint was the roman blinds on the patio doors - awful to crank each one up and down every day, we ended up just leaving them up all the time.
All in all, a wonderful holiday at Old Key West!
