lucky bamboo

How do you care for a lucky bamboo plant? Is there anything I should know? Does it need a special kind of water, fertilizer, etc? What kind of light does it like best?

Also, does anyone know if I can cut a piece off the lucky bamboo to make two lucky bamboos?

I have several Bamboo's around the house. They are not planted though, just in water. I have always been told that as long as they are in odd number counts, 3, 5, 7 etc. They are considered lucky. Luck is also brought on by having a red ribbon or sting tied around the bamboo vase. My bamboo has lived indoors with plan tap water, rocks as a base and lots of sunlight for years now.

I have had one for just about a year. It is just in a tall glass of water with marbles in it. I change the water about once a week or so.
