I just realized that my 180 day window opens on a day we are traveling!! Last year I was able to make most (except Fantasmic package) ressies just after midnight--has that been everyone's experience so far this year?

Nope. The online system will not reset until 6AM.

There was a bug on the website ages ago where it was inadvertently rolling over at the wrong time. This has since been fixed and there have been 0 reports since then of people able to do this.

What does this mean than, that the system does not reset itself until 6am? Just that people who's 180-days are here cannot book until 6am instead of midnight?

If people release reservations between midnight & 6am, do these reservations show up or stay "on hold" so-to-speak until 6am?

Canceled reservations are "released" immediately (or close to it, usually).

The 6am thing is with reference to the "next day". The system "rolls over" to the next day at 6am Eastern. For example, if you're 180 day mark was tomorrow, from midnight to 5:59 am (Eastern) it would still be today and you couldn't book yet. Once 6am hits, the system does its roll over thing and then you (theoretically, barring any system issues) would be able to book.
