Day 6

Thursday, and we are up early and go down to Whispering Canyon for Breakfast. OK, I forgot and asked for the “red-stuff”. After the hoopla died down, we headed to MGM again. Having the car was great. I liked using the WDW transportation, but I hated the long waits (in the heat, anything over 7 minutes was a long wait!), so the car was my best friend, (next to Murf of course!) We tried our hand at WwtbaMillionair. We never registered in the top 10, but we may have buzzed in too early. It was fun just the same. Then it was off to the Back Lot Tour. This was fun, and Murf had a great time flirting with the little girl in the row a head of us. She stood on the seat between her parents, working real hard to pick up this dead bug on the seat behind her, and Murf kept trying to distract her. He won. We doubled back to take in One Man’s Dream. We really like this exhibit, but we had to skip the movie at the end. We would have liked to see it, but we were in motion. We moved on to the Animation Tour. This is another great exhibit which we really enjoyed, except for the little ones, who were board, and loud. There was a large group traveling together, and the little ones just drowned out the guide. A few times he just stopped talking waiting for someone to calm the kids down. He was very patient. It was then off to ToT. I was a bit nervous about this ride, but Murf was looking forward to it. We lucked out, and there was no line, so we walked right on in. A man brought his little girl, who was crying, she didn’t want to go on. The CM explained that they do not allow crying children on the ride, and offered to let him take her out to someone outside, but his wife must have gone off to another area in the park, and he decide to just leave. The CM was very nice about it, and was really thinking of the poor little girl. The girl just hid her face in her daddy’s neck and held on. Poor thing. I wonder if I cried, would Murf have to take me out too. Can you guess what row we lucked into???? Yep, front row! Off we go, and I try not to think too much about it. Great effects, oh, we’re going forward now. This is nice, door opens and whoosh! I’m coming off my seat and free falling! Yet it’s a soft landing, and whoosh we’re climbing again! I’m giddy getting off, but Murf loves it, and said we’ll be back! We head to Indy Jones, which I thought was a ride, but it’s not. I am amazed as I watch the scenery alters. I get distracted at watching them change out the shots, and miss most of the shows different stunt setup aspects. This is pretty cool. They can set up three different scenarios, within the span of the exhibit. We then decide to head over to Epcot while we still have some energy. On the way out we notice a guy with an easel doing caricatures drawings in front of the Brown Derby. We opt for one of the both of us. I go first, as Murf enjoys his pipe. When he’s done with me, I jump up to see what I look like…I look like an older Joann Woodward and since he’s starting with Murf’s eyes, I’m seeing those baby blues looking very much like an older Paul Newman, then the guy draws Murf’s beard and that beautiful balding head, and the mental photo fades, and it’s a pretty good drawing of us, and we walk away happy with our memory.

At Epcot it’s hot! We take a few moments to look around Innovations-East. As we head out, I took a little bit of time to enjoy the fountain, which was very impressive as it danced to the music. We begin to think about lunch and decide we want something different, and head to World Showcase. After a quick stop to test the samples at the Coke exhibit, we head to WS. We were thinking about where we would like to eat, but nothing sounds really very good; Canadian – no, England – Fish & Chips? No. France – Great. We head to Chefs de France, where we enjoy a lovely meal. Murf had Tarte a la Flamme Alsacienne, which was something like a phillo dough with cream, onion and bacon baked on it; Very good! I had the cheese platter, and ordered a glass of pinot blanc to go with it; and with the crusty bread they offered, I was in heaven. The CM was from France and we really enjoyed talking with her. She spoke of her family and the region she came from near the Austrian boarder. For our entrée I had the shrimp with spinach ravioli, and Murf had the Jumbo Shrimp with risotto. For dessert I had the Cheesecake, and Murf had the upside down Apple tart. Both were delicious. There was some trouble with checkout, but it was no biggie! The heat was getting to us, so we headed back to the room to relax before tonight’s Hoop Dee Doo.

After we got our second wind, we headed over to Camp Wilderness to check the place out. We drove over to the main entrance, and then caught a bus to Pioneer Hall. We walked around the petting zoo, which seemed nice, and scoped out the trading post. We rocked for a bit on the porch, and walked about some more. When we were finally able to get in, we had a table to ourselves, in the middle area. The show was cute, and the food was good. I thought the ribs and chicken had good flavor, and the Strawberry shortcake was refreshing. Afterwards, we decided to walk back to our car. It was a lovely walk. We wanted to check out the campsites in case we had the opportunity to come down again and do some camping. The sites were some of the best sites I’ve ever seen, (Would you expect anything less?) and we felt camping would be fun here. I really liked the low light areas; it made for a very romantic walk back to our car. I did get spooked once when I heard something rustling in the undercover, but it turned out to be an armadillo, so the joke was on me. But my brave Hubby was there, and he would have protected me, he said with a glimmer of mirth in his twinkling eyes. Tomorrow is our last full day, and Murf’s got a golf outing in the morning, and our plan is to finish Epcot tomorrow. We still have 8 wishes left, how will be spend them?
