Day 3
Monday, met Murf down at Roaring Forks for Breakfast. He was off to play 18 holes at Bonnet Creeks Eagle Pines. He scheduled a golf lesson from one of their pros on this trip, which he really found useful. After the lesson he was paired with a husband and wife team, since he came alone. I have to tell you, Murf works really hard, and was really looking forward to some down time. I think the golfing was the big highlight of the trip for him. It offered him a chance to enjoy the outdoors, and the mental part of the game gives him a challenge. He said the lesson was informative, but that it would take a bit to incorporate it into his game. Meanwhile I was down at the hot tub again, then the pool, then the hot tub, (you get the idea!) I finally dried off, cleaned up and headed for downtown Disney, via the bus. I picked up some stationary items (pens, pads, stickers, etc.,) and scoped out some souvenirs to pick up later. I then headed back to the Lodge. Murf called from the lobby about 2 and I met him down at the Whispering Canyon. He had the endless skillet and I had the pulled pork oh, yeah, we also enjoyed the endless shakes! After that we took a nap. (What did you expect were on vacation!)
Woke up and drove over to the Grand Floridian, where we had PS for Narcoossees. Wow, this resort is something else. We stepped out of our car and I felt totally out of my element. I wanted to rent a Benz just to use the Valet Parking! And that beautiful car that sits out front is lovely. My-oh-my. We walked into the lobby, and the impressions continued to grow. There was a band playing such lovely music, it all felt surreal. After we walked about, we both agreed that although it is a beautiful place, it wasnt our style, its just a bit too ritzy for our taste. We headed toward the pool area, which was nice, then continued to the lake. We were about an hour early, so we took the boat (which is right next door to the restaurant) over to the Poly. Now here is someplace wed like to stay. We walked thru the lobby area, into the gift shops, and out to the pool. We got ourselves a table, and Murf went to bar to get a White Russian for himself, and a Strawberry Daiquiri for me. We lounged there, people watching, for as long as we dared before taking the boat back to the GF. It was one of only two nights that there were fireworks at the MK during our stay, so I had requested a table by a window. I enjoyed the Lump Crab appetizer, Filet and Lobster Tail entrée, and the Berry Tower dessert. Murf had the Shrimp and Soup appetizer, and Whole Lobster entrée, and the cheesecake with chocolate. Murf enjoyed coffee, while I had iced tea and a nice Merlot. The fireworks surprised us, because I though they'd be right over the Castle, but from where we sat, they were to the left. If you are not going to be at MK, this restaurant is a very nice place to enjoy them. From there we went to Downtown Disney & Pleasure Island. We spent some time at Disney Quest. It wasnt crowded when we got there, but it filled up fast. We did the Pirate ride, which was a blast. Then we split up to check the place out. We met later outside, and then went to pick up our tickets for Cirque. We checked out some of the clubs on PI, catching the first show at the Adventurers Club. After a quick tour into some of the other clubs, we headed back to our room. I did notice that not all the clubs were open. I imagine it was because there werent a lot of people there that night, because later in the week, when we stopped in again, everything was opened. We left and got back to the room about midnight no hot tub tonight Im beat!
