DH wants to do the Luau? Years ago they did one at the Poly? Do they still do one? Is it good for a 3 and 6 year old boys?

TIA :thumbsup2

The Poly still has the Luau. It's called Spirit of Aloha Polynesian Luau. I'm going with my godson and his family in Aug and we've had some discussion as to go or not. Would love to hear what people think of it too. :Pinkbounc

I wouldn't do it again - it must have left a great impression on DH & I as kids, because when we went on our honeymoon we couldn't wait to go to the Luau. As adults, it wasn't really all that exciting to us. What we liked best was the drinks :) Afterwards we went to one of the Poly bars and thought we should have just spent our $$ there. But you have kids with you so maybe they'll enjoy it - like we did when we were kids. Although DH & I couldn't remember what we liked about it as kids, just that we liked it. Must have been the fire! Have a great trip.

My girls loved it last fall! They were 8 and almost-3 at the time. The backstory they give you during your meal is pretty slow, but once the real action starts, it's as good as the luau shows I've seen in Hawaii, etc. My kids especially loved the fire dancers.

Our food was good, too. Not spectacular, but good. I've read reviews where the chicken was dry, but ours wasn't.

dh and I thought it was an enjoyable night, and like I said, the kids absolutely loved it. Don't go in expecting too much, and you won't be disappointed.

Oh, and make your ressies asap, as the date you do so will determine your table location. We made ours about 4 months in advance, and we were in the very first row of tables. I'm sure it's a whole different show up there, versus the very back tables.

We took DS when he was 3 and he was actually a little bored until the fire dancer came on.

We had reservations to go in January but it was too cold and the show was cancelled. Keep that in mind if you are going in the winter.

We went years ago and weren't that impressed. Just got back from the World last Saturday and one of the nights we were there we ended up picking up a lot of people at the Poly who had just seen the show. One family in particular had 2 teenage kids and they didn't care for the show either. They said that unless you were up close that you wouldn't see as much and that there wasn't enough fire dancing.
