Luau rainout-do they find you another option?

I realize the luau goes on in rain, but per the Disney website it can be canceled in "severe inclement weather".

If this happens during our reservation time (5:15 this Saturday, Sept 1) do they accommodate you in any way? do they try to get you upstairs at Ohana? This is a 2TS DDP restaurant and we are only there 3 nights. If it gets canceled we'll lose out on a good meal and have to use them for counter service if we can't get a ressie anywhere else before we leave.

any thoughts?

Since 'Ohana is usually full nightly I find it doubtful that they could "get you in" up there if there are no available tables. Maybe Kona, but doubt 'Ohana

We were there in July and the show was cancelled. CM offered just the buffet for half-price or a full refund. It was really a difficult situation with a huge line for check-in and ultimately refund info. They could not assist with other ADR's ( I inquired from the manager ).

If I went again, I would definitely have a back-up plan. Ours was EMH to eat in the World Showcase....fish n' chips, funnel cake, sushi, funnel cake, bratwurst, funnel cake, ect...:thumbsup2

1) The luau does get canceled for cool weather or rain.
2) They automatically refund the cost to your credit card or DDP.
3) They DO NOT try to find an alternate meal.

NOTE: Sometimes they do offer the buffet at a reduced price. This only occurs if the luau is canceled late in the day. If it is canceled 2-3 hours before the show, they stop making the food, so there is no buffet-only option.

Thanks for the replies.

That's a shame. We're there for only 3 days and would hate to have to use our TS as CS and lose out on some nice sit down meals.

They do appear very reluctant to cancel the show. When we were there last September there was torrential rain, there were even handing out bin liners for people who were going to show to put over themselves between the main building and the luau building. This show was limited as the performers could not appear on the wet areas, and to be honest it was all rather miserable due to the weather conditions. However the show still went ahead and we were stuck with it as we had already paid.

It may have been relevant that this occurred during a free dining period so had they cancelled the show they may not have been anywhere to send us.
