Luau @ Poly

Heading to Poly 12/5. Been reading these boards for several months, have yet to see any discussion on the luau. If it worth the money? Any other comments?

I have always enjoyed it. I know some say the food is not very good but Tara and I thought it was and our taste is for places like Flying Fish, Jiko, California Grill etc. We also enjoy the show. We don’t go every year but every other year we try to see the show. I think you don’t see much luau talk here but you may on the restaurant board. Once is Enough. I did it last month, and thought the show was good, the food was ok, a little disappointing for the money. The service was terrible, the desserts were yummy.

From Jan 2003 to Feb 2003 they will be redoing the luau stage and the show will be different.

Is it going to be closed during this time? We are going with friends Jan 24-28 and DH's friend has his heart set on going to the luau.

Yes it will be closed during that time; t goes down in mid January, sometime beofre the 20th. Sorry.

We went to the Luau just on Oct 1. It was good, something to see once. We took our 2yr old dd w/ us and she loved the show. The food wasn't as good as I hoped, after eating at 'Ohana's two nights before I don't think anything could've compared.

We'll probably skip it the next time we stay there but it was something to do once - Personally, I think ohana is much better! (And not much cheaper for two adults and a couple of drinks).
